Must have equipment for the Shadowcraft Mage

Apr 28, 2008 11:01:16 Greetings all,

I originally posed this question in the Shadowcraft Mage thread but it didn't get much response there so I thought I would start a seperate thread for it. What equipment would you choose for a Shadowcraft Mage build?

I think most lesser metamagic rods are awesome choices, though that statement is based on the premise that the caster chooses the order that metamagic effects are applied and can thus apply the rod's effect before they heighten silent image.

Also, the Empowered Spellshard from the Magic Item Compendium makes a great choice, subject to the same assumption.

The Continuous Collar of Umbral Metamorphisis has been mentioned, in conjunction with the planar bubble spell for maximized shadow spell goodness.

I'd like to see ideas beyond the obvious Headband of Intellect and Cloak of Resistance. Item combos or item/spell combos would be awesome. Any ideas?

Ring of Arcane Might is a favorite of mine for every spellcaster.

Throwing in an ioun stone wouldn't hurt either.
