| #1RamlatusMay 19, 2008 2:34:24 | Concept: This is a build based off of Artemis Entrari. Since the character is non-evil, an assassin is not allowed. That’s fine as I’m more focused on being the best dual wielding stealth fighter I can be. The most efficient weapons builds would be 2 scimitars or longsword/short sword combo, but I don’t want everything to be min-maxed. I chose longsword/dagger as my weapons of choice. In the first session I was 1st level rogue so I wasn’t proficient with longsword, so I was using 2 daggers, and am thinking about going that way to be interesting. But then I would have to take silent blade as a PrC. That’s okay, but it really doesn’t fit the concept personality well. 2 scimitars has been done to death in every campaign all across the globe. Longsword/short sword just seams too classic to me. The character is neutral – undecided, as he has a sense of personal disciple, but not really so much for the rules of the rest of humanity. What I’m looking for is thoughts and advice on the build. The DM has informed me that the feats Quick Draw are automatic for any martial class. Human Str 15, Dex 16, Con 15, Int 16, Wis 14, Cha 14. Fighter/Rogue 1st: Rogue – Two-Weapon Fighting, Two-Weapon Defense 2nd: Fighter – Blind-Fight 3rd: Fighter – Weapon Focus (Longsword),Weapon Focus (Dagger) 4th: Rogue – None 5th: Fighter – None 6th: Fighter – Weapon Specialization (Longsword),Weapon Specialization (Dagger) 7th: Rogue – None 8th: Uncanny Trickster 9th: Uncanny Trickster (Rogue) – Improved Two-Weapon Defense (from Complete Warrior) 10th: Fighter – None 11th: Fighter – Improved Two-Weapon Fighting 12th: Uncanny Trickster (Rogue) – Melee Weapon Mastery (Slashing) (from PHB II) 13th: Fighter – None 14th: Fighter – Greater Two-Weapon Defense (from Complete Warrior) 15th: Rogue – Greater Two-Weapon Fighting 16th: Fighter – None 17th: Fighter – Greater Weapon Focus (Longsword) 18th: Rogue – Greater Weapon Focus (Dagger) 19th: Fighter – None 20th: Fighter – Greater Weapon Specialization (Longsword) I was going to take skill tricks at these times, in this order. 1st – Hidden Blade; 3rd – Speedy Ascent; 5th – Nimble Charge; 7th – Corner Perch; 8th – Up the Hill; 9th – Acrobatic Backstab, Spot the Weak Point; 12th – Back on Your Feet. I’m wondering about comparing these other combos for the same concept. Ranger/Rogue Swordsage/Rogue Fighter/Swordsage Fighter/Factotum |

Completely replaceable with 1 feat (Improved Buckler Defense) - and NO, I DON'T CARE THAT ARTEMIS NEVER USED A BUCKLER. 2) I would think he's more Warblade/Rogue than Swordsage/Rogue. Most of the Swordsage maneuvers are more "mystical" in nature, while Warblade maneuvers are less so. |

I would also be able to pusue another tree of feats say spring attack tree, or combat expertise tree, or simply increase my weapon focusing feats. Although their is an advantage to Two-weapon defense. 1: You can improve on it, and thus don't have to find a magic buckler, only a light weapon should you ever be stripped of gear. 2: It fits the concept more accurately, which I know some people don't feel is wise. Thank you for the input, I may go that route. It would leave me more vulnerable if we are ever captured and striped, but overall it may be worth it. |

| #5RamlatusMay 19, 2008 6:12:10 | I will look into the daring outlaw when I get to my CS. Thank you for your input. |

Wrist bands might not be what you want either, but you get my point. Also, if you really want two daggers, there's an alternate class feature in the PHB2 for the Swashbuckler which replaces their dodge bonus to AC with a shield bonus if they're wielding two weapons. If you're going the Daring Outlaw route, this could work perfect. |

Ditch the fluff (because it's all mutable in the end, whereas the rules are less so) and build with an eye towards optimization because that's the only way you will maintain yourself as a contributing member of the team. |
