I will be playing (in between my 4e game I DM when I run out of material for the day) in a Gestalt game set in Ghostwalk. I decided, to give myself something fun to do at to **** off the law of the world, that I would be a Necromancer, planning to conquer the world and force those ghosts to be called undead even if they are not.

My build is a s follows:

Race: Human

Stats:

STR 10
DEX 11
CON 12
INT 20
WIS 13
CHA 15
//
COM 17 (Because high or low charisma should not pertain to how one looks physically in our game; don't worry about this)

Progression:
1) Cloistered Cleric 1 // Necromancer 1 ; Tomb-Tainted Soul [HBF], Corpsecrafter [1st], Spell Focus(Necromancy) [Flaw], Divine Metamagic [Flaw], Fell Animate [Flaw]
2) Cloistered Cleric 2 // Necromancer 2 ;
3) Cloistered Cleric 3 // Necromancer 3 ; Obtain Familiar [2nd]
4) Cloistered Cleric 4 // True Necromancer 1 ; +1 CHA
5) True Necromancer 2 // Necormancer 4 ;
6) True Necromancer 3 // Necormancer 5 ; Undead Leadership [3rd], Fell Drain [WBF]
7) True Necromancer 4 // Master Specialist (Necormancer) 1 ;
8) Paragnostic Apostle 1 // Master Specialist (Necormancer) 2 ; +1 WIS
9) Paragnostic Apostle 2 // Master Specialist (Necormancer) 3 ; Stitched Flesh Familiar [4th]
10) Paragnostic Apostle 3 // Master Specialist (Necormancer) 4 ;
11) Paragnostic Apostle 4 // Necormancer 6 ;
12) Paragnostic Apostle 5 // Necormancer 7 ; +1 DEX, Spell Focus(Any) [5th]
13) True Necromancer 5 // Necromancer 8 ;
14) True Necromancer 6 // Necromancer 9 ;
15) True Necromancer 7 // Archmage 1 ; Destruction Retribution [6th], Lord of the Uttercold [WBF]
16) True Necromancer 8 // Necormancer 10 ; +1 INT
17) True Necromancer 9 // Necormancer 11 ;
18) True Necromancer 10 // Necormancer 12 ; Nimble Bones [7th]
19) True Necromancer 11 // Necormancer 13 ;
20) True Necromancer 12 // Necormancer 14 ; +1 INT, Improved Familiar [WBF]

Variant Features: Enhanced Undead (Wizard) [UA]
Skeletal Minion (Wizard) [UA]
Cloistered Cleric (Cleric) [UA]

As you can see, I am throwing two archetype Necro's (Cleric Horde Necro & later Uttercold Assault Necro) together to form a super Necro (not really =/).
As I am sure some of you may say, I probably should have gone Uttercold earlier in build, or I should not have gotten the Undead Minion of UA, or I should take all 10 levels of Master Specialist, but whatever, because all pertain to me loosing my skeleton, and my character loves her skeleton, Literally, making it important to keep. But besides that, does this seem solid?

Looks very pretty, but in gestalt you're limited to one PrC at a time.

Plus, you are going to bore the hell out of your party while you contemplate where all of your minions are going to go.

Plus, the UA Necro sub doesnt' stack with Corpsecrafter, so drop one or the other, probably the UA sub since Corpsecrafter is a prereq to get to Destructive Retribution.

Not to mention that true necromancer is a theurge class.

If you really want to do the necromancer schtick: dread necromancer is awesome. Lay that down on one side then on the other I'd do something like hexblade or paladin of tyranny.

Dread Necromancer 20\\Cloistered Cleric 1/Marshal 1/Paladin of Tyranny 3/Fighter 2/Duskblade 3/Blackguard 10

For domains: Deathbound and Undead are good.

Focus on animating and controlling dead with the adding bonus of being able to whoop up on everyone on the combat field. Necromancy is filled with enough spells that can be channeled and are useful debuffs. Paladin gives you smite, deadly touch, aura of despair and divine grace and health (useful until you're undead). Marshal let's you abuse your charisma. Blackguard also grants you some extras like sneak attack, a fiendish servant, charisma to your saves again, poison use (you don't care because you're a necropolitian) and some helpful divine spells.

I wouldn't invest in combat feats aside from Power attack, cleave and improved sunder. Fighter'll cover most of these.

Speaking of being a necropolitian: make sure your friend is also a dread necromancer with corpsecrafter and some other feats -- bolster resistance, deadly chill, harden flesh and nimble bones -- before you get raised. That'll make you more awesome than the party fighter but probably not the barbarian.

p.s. true necromancer is an ackbar sized trap.

I agree with the above poster Dread Necromancer for the win. Also, agree with his build as pretty functional although some straight up DN 20 CC 20 would probably be viable and you would become a litch at level 20 have an assload of turn attempts to fuel your DMM and would be able to control an obscene number of HD of undead minions....

Not to mention that true necromancer is a theurge class.

I sure it will be alright, I have a casting class on each side anyways, so the theurge is no-factor

I was under the impression that you could not take a dual progression PrC as part of a gestalt build. I am incorrect in this? Could have sworn I read this somewhere

The relevant part of the Gestalt Characters guidelines.

A gestalt character can’t combine two prestige classes at any level, although it’s okay to combine a prestige class and a regular class. Prestige classes that are essentially class combinations-such as the arcane trickster, mystic theurge, and eldritch knight-should be prohibited if you’re using gestalt classes, because they unduly complicate the game balance of what’s already a high-powered variant. Because it’s possible for gestalt characters to qualify for prestige classes earlier than normal, the game master is entirely justified in toughening the prerequisites of a prestige class so it’s available only after 5th level, even for gestalt characters.

This.

And like I said, True Necromancer is a trap. All theurge classes are. Except maybe arcane heirophant and ultimate magus and eldritch disciple. But those are really the only ones and Eldritch Disciple is the best of the three.
