i'm a 5wizzard/5 war mage (DL)/5 Force Missile/Argent savant

so with all my feats (that i don't want to change) i can make at lvl 15:

7 MM each one makes: 1d4 + 1 +1(fiery) +3(war mage) + x(knowledge devotion) + 4 (using 2 eager dagger from MIC)

+ ofc empwer twin and so on....

my question is:
there is samthing better or to add to eager daggers to get more damage?

Well, I... my impulse would be to direct you to the upper level versions of magic missile such as ye olde mordenkain's force missiles.

Unnamed bonuses from the same source generally do not stack. I do not think, therefore, that you can use 2 eager daggers to boost damage to +4. Also, without somatic weaponry (the feat) or still spell...wait...does FMM make all magic missiles stilled or silent? I can't remember, if they're not stilled you can't wield two daggers at the same time and cast, anyway.

For magic missile, specifically, I personally like both Fell Drain and Fell Weaken. Even with the FAQ correction that they only affect a given target once per missile spell cast (and not per missile), it's still a negative level and -4 strength. Add Bracers of the Entangling Blast (-4 Dex, on top of other negs from entaglement), and you potentially do some serious debuffing to an enemy group, and have some fairly effective crowd control, since there are a number of things entangled creatures can't do.

I'd much rather have that than more damage, personally.

If you haven't already done so, be sure to take Arcane Thesis-Magic Missile, and possibly Metamagic School Focus-Evo, to reduce your Meta costs.

Any way of adding a dispel effect to magic missles?

I don't see any in my notes. I looked through the feat index and through the MIC and didn't see anything either.

Too bad, though, that would have made a good metamagic feat.

There is, however, the precedent of the Dispelling Breath spell. I don't see why you couldn't make a similar spell that affected your magic missile spells instead of your Dragon's Breath spell.

Where is dispelling breath, by the way? I've been searching for ways to add carrier effects to spells in general as well. It'd be neat to compile a list of all the abilities, feats, spells, items, and class features that add effects to spells, since about half of them aren't meta-magic, and a lot of them are obscure.

All the X-Breath spells are in the Spell Compendium (at least I think they all are). If there isn't one there you've heard about, it's probably in the Draconomicon and didn't get ported over. There may be additional ones in RotD and/or Dragon Magic, but I don't remember any. DB is definitely in SpC.

so no way to add more damage with items right?

Probably not. most of the damage supps for magi are class abilites and feats. Letting items sub for feats soon blows the power of wizards out of the water.

I don't know of any items off the top of my head, besides the ones that just boost caster level (which you should definitely be getting anyway), but the following two spells come to mind...

Assay Spell Resistance gives you a +10 versus a particular creature for 1rd/lvl as a swift action. That's from Spell Compendium.

True Casting gives you a +10 Insight bonus for a single spell cast, unfortunately, as a standard action. That's from Complete Mage.

There are also several feats you should look at, like Invisible Needle (+1 to CL for force spells), which also gives you a MM-like Su (which goes through SR entirely) ability at will, as long as you have a force spell memmed.

Tome-bound eye of boccobobobobobbobobo (boccobo)
That's not really great for spell-spam though. If you need to get a single shot through though..... Well, I've punched one through a balor's spell resist at level 12 without rolling using that thing.

Ring of Arcane Supremacy lets you reroll a CL check to beat SR, and a Ring of Enduring Arcana helps prevent dispels on your affects.

I think (think) the former is in CM and the latter in MIC.
