Dec 15, 2008 0:27:32 Does a cleric that is able to cast an arcane spell, such as through a domain, qualify for Mystic Theurges "Able to cast 2nd level Arcane spells"? He can technically cast the spell, it just casts as devine. It doesn't say it has to be cast as arcane. I.E. from a wizard or the such.

Let me know if this works please.

Dec 15, 2008 1:55:22 No, you have to be able to cast it AS an arcane spell. The Southern Magician feat, from Races of Faerun can help you. But why? Without another class to boost there is not point in taking the class, which wasn't attractive in the first place.

Dec 15, 2008 1:57:40 It doesn't work. Even though the spell may also be from an arcane list, it is still cast as a divine spell. It does not count as an arcane spell.

It would allow you to qualify by level 4 (2 levels earlier than normal).
Giving Divine Spell progression at -1(2 better than normal) level and Arcane progression at -3(same as normal).
