I've learned many the rules for 3.5, and have access to virtually all of the D&D and Forgotten Realms 3.5 books and am trying to construct a powerful Wizard build. This is what I've got so far. Sun Elf (I'm not allowed Gray or Fire, or I'd have taken those) Wizard lvls 1-5, taking SpFoc: Evoc, Iron Will and Empower Spell Incantatrix lvls 6-15, taking Improved Init., Spell Foc. Necro, Spell Penetration and Sk.Foc. Spellcraft. I take Maximize, Chain, Quick and Twin as my free metamagic feats. Archmage lvls 16-18, taking Persistent Spell at lvl 18. I only want 3 of the high arcana abilities, so don't really want to take more than this. What this does though, is leave me 2 empty levels that I'm not positive what to do with. I definitely do not want to start out as a specialist, I like being a generalist wizard and it almost killed me to decide which school of give up at lvl 6! I've considered throwing a couple of levels of Abjurant Champion in there around lvl 10-11, or a couple levels of Initiate of the Sevenfold Veils, but it'd mean giving up more of the few feat slots I have and I'm not crazy about that. Any advice? Jasonite P.S. I took a weasel familiar at first level...debated between this and a rat a bit. |

As for the last two levels, I'm a personal fan of the fate spinner, usually take it to 4, then if it goes epic the fifth level can be taken with practiced spell caster with no loss of CL. |

Well, Enchantment is the school I'm giving up for Incantatrix, I use the fewest spells from that school. I plan on casting the majority of my spells from Evocation, and since most of them will take a reflex or fortitude save, focusing there to make it harder seemed a wise choice? Illusion's a good idea though, I think the majority of them require a will save. As for Fate Spinner thanks for advice, I'll look into it! J |
