| #1divinechaos78May 13, 2009 23:08:56 | Im about to join a new campaign with afew mates of mine, so far the group has everything covered except someone in the skills/faceman department like a rogue or ninja spy, scout, something. I was thinking of making a character whos basicly a natural born conqurer, leader of men, basicly Xena warrior princess if she were born a he. lol. basicly im trying to fit being a skilled, two weapon fighting, control an army with my mind, become a warrior king type. I was looking at the thrallherd prc which looks pretty wicked, but need help with what feats an classes, and a race that would help flesh out my natural born ruler. Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

Also, what gear would you suggest I should look at to help me out should someone attempt to target me? I saw that you stated in another thread about a Ring of Freedom of Movement, which negates grapple attempts. I must say very kickarse indeed, but what could you suggest to help countre being targeted, granting concealment either 20%, 50%, etc. Negating things like the scent ability, detect thoughts, flanking, any of the detect alignment spells, scrying, death effects, etc. Since you cant use the leadership feat with the thrallherd's ability, what can be used to help boost the effect of thrallherd in order to get more believers for a massive army type build very quick. Also, is there a way to like get golems cheap? My thoughts on this were, and tell me if this is wise, to have my thrallherd's believers made up of warforged.... lol. Since the campaign I'll be joining is not setting fixed. What other races would be good with your build besides basic human? I was thinking about something someone mentioned about being a warforged, taking Incarnate Construct since it has -2 LA, I could use any template thats worth +2 LA or less. If I were to go that route, which templates would you suggest that would fit with the Warlord from hell type? |

I saw that you stated in another thread about a Ring of Freedom of Movement, which negates grapple attempts. I must say very kickarse indeed, but what could you suggest to help countre being targeted, granting concealment either 20%, 50%, etc. try this: Cloak of Displacement, Minor: This item appears to be a normal cloak, but when worn by a character its magical properties distort and warp light waves. This displacement works similar to the displacement spell except that it only grants a 20% miss chance on attacks against the wearer. It functions continually. Negating things like the scent ability, detect thoughts, flanking, any of the detect alignment spells, scrying, death effects, etc. try this ........ Third Eye of Conceal: Third Eye of Conceal: While worn, a third eye conceal protects the wearer from view by all devices, powers, and spells that detect, inf luence, or read emotions or thoughts. This power protects against all mind-affecting powers and effects as well as information-gathering by clairsentience powers or effects (except for metafaculty); this item affects the wearer as if he enjoyed the benefit of the psionic mind blank power. Since you cant use the leadership feat with the thrallherd's ability, what can be used to help boost the effect of thrallherd in order to get more believers for a massive army type build very quick. Boost Cha ..... get +5 Tome of Cha, +6 Cloak of Cha, put all level boosts to Cha A thrallherd’s Leadership score is equal to her character level + her Cha modifier + her thrallherd level. (Note that her thrallherd level is counted twice.) This score is not affected by any of the modifiers mentioned in the Leadership feat. Also, is there a way to like get golems cheap? My thoughts on this were, and tell me if this is wise, to have my thrallherd's believers made up of warforged.... lol. Since the campaign I'll be joining is not setting fixed. avoid Incarnate Construct if possible..... better to focus on Creature that get a Bonus to Cha rather than penalty..... Pixies are great :D |

You get Mindlink as a Psi-like Ability, which qualifies you, and you get 1 bonus power point per level, along with a boost to a few social skills. They're LA +0, also. I would suggest ditching the two-weapon fighting aspect, as it is rarely worth it, unless you invest very heavily in it (loads of Sneak Attack Dice, etc). I'd also go with Psion, or even Ardent, ahead of Wilder. With Thrallherd levels counting twice for your Leadership score, it will climb very high very fast, if you continue leveling in the PrC. Of course, the other option is to only dip into it, to avoid BAB losses, if you really want to go with the warrior aspect. I'd go at least 3 levels into it, though, to get Dominate. If you go with Thrallherd as just a dip, Wilder might be a decent entry. It's not really optimal, but Ranger 2/Wilder 4/Thrallherd 4/Slayer 10 might fit what you're looking for. You'll only get 8th level powers ultimately, but you'll get TWF for free, Track to qualify for Slayer, and the best abilities of the Thrallherd class. Your BAB will wind up as +17, also. Just buy the Gloves of the Balanced Hands from the MiC to get a virtual Improved TWF feat, and don't invest more than that into that fighting style. Definitely take Psicrystal Affinity, the powers Vigor and Share Pain, and the Linked Power metapsionic feat. I'd also take Psionic Meditation, if you can afford the Wisdom prereq, and the Hustle power. This combo will let you manifest a Hustle linked to a Vigor as a swift action every round, giving you a large number of temporary hit points, which your Psicrystal also gets via Share Powers. Then half your damage goes to the psicrystal via Share Pain. With this setup, you'll be extremely hard to kill via hit point damage. You could instead go Ranger 1/Psion 5/Thrallherd 4/Slayer 10, and eventually get 9th level powers, along with a couple of bonus feats, more powers known, and BAB +16. I just really hate the Wilder class... so I'd go with this, if it were me. YMMV. |

| #7divinechaos78May 14, 2009 16:37:06 | Im curious, isn't there a LA +2 template that offers bonus to Charisma? My reason for the Incarnate construct idea is for the big towering look idea of a leader.... if I did go say warforge, what template that either LA +1 or LA +2 that would grant my character the needed stat bonuses for the thrallherd prc? Also, what are your thoughts of the Walker in the Waste prc as for its sand golem making potential? |

I was thinking of trying to combine aspects of both a buildomancer build and having a living Wall of AC type of build, by taking the item familar feat, I could have it be the lyre of building thereby stacking it with skill points til its good enough to perform for me without end hehe. If you can use Metamorphosis (and want to), I'd go with an Egoist to get it ASAP. Even if you don't, it is still probably the best discipline for a self-buffing melee gish. Otherwise, all of the disciplines have their merits. I'd avoid Telepath, because you're getting arguably the best powers from it from your PrC already. Even that wouldn't be bad, though. And you can pick up powers from other disciplines via Expanded Knowledge, so choice of discipline isn't as crucial as you might think. What I'm stumped on trying to figure in is ways to synergize feats or class features in order to convert wisdom to AC, intelligence to AC, cha to AC. Don't mess with that stuff. It's not worth it. You can get a stellar AC without any of it, just from personal buffs and decent equipment. |
