Hello I am new to Dungeons and Dragons and my friend is letting me join the game he is running. I want to be a Minotaur, Centaur or a Goliath. Our DM said that I cannot play melee since there are a lot of melee. I do not want to do magic. I hate magic and I hate music. I don't want to use bows. I hate bows. I like throwing things but not boomerangs. Hulking Hurler is banned though. Tome of Battle and Psionics are also banned. The ECL needs to be 6. I was wondering if anyone could help me build a character. I don't like playing small-sized races, even though they have a lot of advantages. It just doesn't fit with this character concept, which is heavily influenced by early grecian culture and history.

Could you be more specific about which type of character do you want?

You said no bows, melee, magic, ToB, small races... A master thrower/exotic weapon master could do, maybe drunken master? Cuz' judging by what you said the only thing you would play is this. With Drunken Master you could chuck chairs, beer kegs and whatnot. With Exotic Weapon Master you could choose from all sorts of nifty throwing weapons like chakrams and bolas and whatnot. You need to round down a bit what you really want before someone'll help you out. Give us at least a general idea of what you want to play, work it out with your DM, see if he's okay with that, and check back on us.

Here's a post that could help you a bit with that: http://forums.gleemax.com/showthread.php?t=626244

There is already someone in the group who is going to be a kensai and a drunkern master. I like grappling things. And maybe throwing enemies. Our stat dice are 4d6 best 3 out of 4. Thank you for the reply. The group consists of a wereodile (house ruled crocodile lycanthrope) barbarian, a monk who is going to prestige into drunken master and kensai, a cleric I don't know what he plans on prestiging into, and a factotum who fills in the gaps of the melee heavy party, he is going into iaijutsu master.

Your DM says you cannot play melee, so you... intend to play melee?
...
Good luck with that.

A wereodile (house ruled crocodile lycanthrope)

Not really house ruled, more like using the template. Either way I would say you should make a mage of some kind with the centaur thing... Either way I cant think of a reason y you wouldnt want to play an archer i mean a scout would be great even if you used a centaur/minotaur.

Your party would really benefit from an arcane caster. But you hate magic! How about something like primordial half-giant warlock. Half-giant is hopefully monstrous enough for you. Warlock uses some magic, but his options are limited and does not have to worry about daily spell selection and crap like that.

Another option that you did not reject (yet) would be focusing on auras or breath attack.

A Dragonfire Adept with Entangling Exhalation might be nice for you. And it benefits from those high Con 'big' races.

Yeah, General, from what you have just described to us pretty much takes all classes out for you unless someone on these boards are creative enough to offer advice which will be VERY little sense you have given us very little information.

All you gave us was what you werent allowed, which means we cant help you.

No stats? no books that ARE allowed?, nothing on the Campaign, nothing on what you WANT to do, its all what you CANT do, which pretty much you have 2 options, you can either give us some information we can use to help you, OR! dont even play the game because you pretty much took everything we can suggest out of the equation.

With that said........Ill try to help you regardless.

Dragonfire adept would be very nice, specially as a Dwarf you get a +2 to Con. Get up to lvl 15 and you can use the 'Breath of Tiamet' breath effect to give yourself 5 seperate attacks all doing the same damage of 9d6, sense your also under the effect of a breath weapon, you can use that to your advantage by taking the metabreath feats. Maximize breath on top of a 45d6 (with breath of Tiamet), maximize that and your sitting on 270 base damage, then you can add split ray, not sure how that would work with the Tiamet thing going on. But I assure you, its ALOT!. maybe 1k+? damage? maybe more.

Sense a lvl 20 DFA has 3 attacks thats 270 damage x 3 which in a single round is ummmmmmmmm.............Yeah, youll make everyone in your group drool. Trust me, im moderately good with math and even I just lost track of the damage that can be wrought.

A Warlock cant pull that off anyday, I assure you.

That would fall under the province of DM fiat, which according to the sound of his DM so far, would probably be banned. After all it requires a little wiggling in the rules.

You'd also have to be nongood and take damage or be evil and take a little less damage.

I'm not sure where you're getting 3 Fivefold Breaths of Tiamat in a round. I suppose if you allowed metabreath feats it would allow quickened breath, but even that would only be 2. Furthermore, you can only use a specific breath effect every other round.

To avoid the evil-hammer (and the DM rage-hammer) I'd pick up paralyzing breath or force breath (since discorporating breath of bahamut is kind of meh, especially since you take double your level in damage even if you're good) at 15th.

Other terriferic breaths include Sickening Breath (2nd level), Slow/Weakening Breath (5th level, pick slow), maybe Enduring, Sleep, or Thunder Breath (10th, you could also pick the 5th level breath you didn't pick first).

As for invocations (you get 2 per 'invocation level') I recommend Endure Elements (make your allies immune to your breath weapon) and Magic Insight (Identify sans spell component at-will!), I'd push Humanoid Shape and Voiddsense as Lesser, despite the fierce competition. Here's why, you can take the Flaws to your attack rolls and the flaw that makes you roll twice to hit and never care because you always use an Area attack. Blindsense will tell you where anyone within 30ft is (and thus, the direction to aim your breath attack). For Greater I'll push Chilling Fog and Draconic Toughness (temp HP=level at-will. It's like DR/- that you have to recharge). Finally for Dark Invocations I recommend Energy immunity and either Instill Vulnerability or Greater Draconic Flight.

You can 'buy' invocations 1 level lower than your highest level known with feats, so there's always that too.

You don't seem to have a very good grasp on how your breath weapon works. You don't make additional breath attacks based on your BAB. A level 20 DFA has 2 attacks. Regardless of that, it only has one standard action with which to use FFBoT. Also, you're trying to split ray something that's.. not a ray?

Warlocks can get quite a bit of EB damage as well.
Human (Devil Bloodline)
Warlock 13/Hellfire Warlock 3/Uncanny Trickster 1/Legacy Champion 3

Feats :
Mortalbane, Empower SLA (Eldritch Blast), Maximize SLA (Eldritch Blast), Quicken SLA (Eldritch Blast), Shape Soulmeld (Strongheart Vest), Least Legacy, and several others of your choice.

Eldritch Blast damage of 26d6, which can be made into 156+15d6, can be quickened, chained, and used as an eldritch glaive. Ignores SR, ranged touch, and not as commonly resisted as fire damage. The character still has a dark invocation and 16th level invoking. This isn't even particularly optimized, though it does use roughly 21k more experience to get to level 20.

Still trying to be nicer. Sorry Dawnmor.
