"Non-magical" rules out Artificer, Spellthief and Factotum, and leaves you with Rogue, Ranger or Scout. Here's a build idea: Dwarf Rogue 1/Dwarf Paragon 1/Rogue 2-4/Combat Trapsmith 5/Exemplar 10 Feats: 1: Knowledge Devotion (mostly for knowledge:architecture). 3: Trap Engineer 6: Trap Sensitivity 9: To be determined You'll be able to wear heavy armor from level 2 without impeding your trapfinding skills. Stonecunning and improved stonecunning is auto-search for most secret doors, and some traps and hazards. At level 1, your Search score, assuming Int 16 and a masterwork tool, is 4 (skill) +3 (ability) + 2 (circumstance) (+2 stonecunning)= +9/+11 At level 2, it's 5 (skill) +3 (ability) + 2 (circumstance)= +10, +4 conditional from Improved Stonecunning, +2 to find secret doors/compartments from Knowledge: Architecture. ...and your ability to find traps and secret doors just keeps improving. |
