I'm rolling up a character to jump into an existing campaign. I've never played with these guys before, but it looks like they deliberately play with somewhat overpowered characters. Unfortunately, I'm not quite sure what to play. The party currently has a druid (ws spec), fighter, and ranger. There currently is no dedicated arcane caster or divine healer. The party is largely CG in alignment, and the DM will allow material from the BoED, if that matters.

Here's what I rolled for stats:

18
16
14
13
12
12

Race-wise I'd prefer to stick with the core, PHB races.

I'm playing a wizard in another (Pathfinder) campaign and would prefer not to play another wizard (unless it took some obscure aspect of wizardry to some extreme). Any recommendations (classes, along with a solid, simple build)? Here are the books we have available to draw from:

Book of Exalted Deeds
Complete Adventurer
Complete Arcane
Complete Divine
Defenders of the Faith
Draconomicon
Dungeon Master's Guide
Dungeon Master's Guide II
Epic Level Handbook
Expanded Psionics Handbook
Fiend Folio
Frostburn
Libris Mortis
Lords of Madness
Magic Item Compendium
Monster Manual
Monster Manual II
Monster Manual III
Planar Handbook
Player's Handbook
Sandstorm
Sword and Fist
Tome and Blood
Unearthed Arcana

what is the starting level?

are you looking for Combat power or Non-combat power?

since UA is allowed .... you might try a Generic Spellcaster.... here is a Link:

www.systemreferencedocuments.org/resourc...

even at first level you can Fullfill MANY roles ..... try this:

Human
Generic Spellcaster(Arcane)... Int based CastingĀ

12 Str
14 Dex
13 Con
18 Int
12 Wis
16 Cha

Weapon: Dagger

Feats:
Sneak Attack (Ex): As the rogue ability, but +2d6 on damage rolls.
Trap Sense (Ex): Combines the rogue class features trap sense and trapfinding
Familiar: As the sorcerer ability. Use spellcaster level to determine familiar's abilities.

Class Skills:
Craft
Hide
Knowledge (all)
Move Silently
Profession
Search
Spellcraft

Skill points: 20

Spellcasting: A spellcaster learns and casts spells as a sorcerer. She may select her spells known from the cleric, druid, and sorcerer/wizard spell lists.

this makes a versatile character that can fullfill many roles, and cover any areas that are needed

you might also do something Similar with Psion

Thanks for the ideas. I'll post a new thread with the specifics (which I forgot to put here).
