So I'm DMing a 4e Eberron campaign, and in my party we have a 10th level Human Paladin, and the thing is, no attack vs. AC can even touch him. Somehow he has an AC of 47 through bonuses, and enchanted set of plate armor, various magical items, but it still seems outrageous. I have DMed 4e for nearly two years, by any possible condition can a paladin achieve 47 AC by level 10? Thanks.

If we can explain you how he has an AC of 47 at level 10 - it means we got the rules wrong. 57 is probably the best AC a paladin can have and that includes bonuses from paragon path, paragon tier feats, epic destiny, +6 armor, etc. Make sure that he is not adding his undivided level to AC or adding enhancement bonuses from his shield or adding Dex bonus while whearing heavy armor. Also - just not being able to reliably hit his AC is not that much of a problem provided he has wasted enough resources into achieving this. You can still attack his saving throws and ingnore him while attacking the rest of the party if he does not have the means to achieve this (and lvl 10 paladin does not). |
