Hello all. For those of you who are interested, here it is Ed Greenwood's confirmation of Eilistraee's and Vhaeraun's return: Questions for Ed Greenwood (2015).

Hi again, all. Irennan, heeeere's Ed:

Communications being what they are in the Realms, with caravans bringing news and gossip and inevitable distortions as things get told and retold, most mortals can't be certain of much; they always have to trust (or not trust) retellings from afar.

However, the word spreading about the return of Eilistraee and Vhaeraun comes from excited reports of mortal worshippers personally meeting MANIFESTATIONS and AVATARS of the deities; i.e. yes, Vhaeraun and Eilistraee are both "back."

Now, as to whether they'll appear face to face with a given mortal in a given location in the Realms, that's a far different matter. The gods in general seem more "distant" post-Sundering, more "heard from" than "personally seen."

And there you have it.
The Word of Ed, so to speak.
love,
THO

I see... WotC has set Ed up as the gossip train.

Currently Ed seems to be the only source of up to date info on the Realms, since we aren't likely to get a new FRCS (so, if you have any question, it is worth to try asking him over the thread that I linked). Remember that what Ed says about FR is considered canon, unless WotC explictly comes in and says ''No''.

I am so glad I have never acknowledged the Time of Troubles or Spellplague.

Thanks for the post WOTC hasn't mentioned anything about up and coming books or anything yet and it's also nice that Ed Greenwood is dropping info on new cannon of FR!

You're very welcome. If you have anything you want to know about the 5e FR, try asking him over the threads that I linked in the OP. It worked for Halruua, Eilistraee and Vhaeraun, it may work for other areas of interest too, and it is the only official canon (on stuff that isn't the APs) that we are going to get atm.

I never incorporated the events of the novels of her demise. Glad she's back officially I guess....

Neither did I, especially because those events and what they tried to pass as ''redemption'' diminished her character. Still, now that Eilistraee is alive in canon, there is the possibility of more development, stories or even simply tidbits of lore on her/her followers to be created and published; dead characters don't get much of that.
