#2 mellored Mar 11, 2015 8:19:41	They are trying to make an errata, that's not an errata. They want to offer fixes to issues, without forcing people who are happy with the game to do any kind of updating.   So what the exact form of that is going to be, it's hard to say.
#3 Farmer42 Mar 11, 2015 8:30:17	Yeah.  4e got tot he point that some things didn't even remotely resemble how they were written after errata, which led to table confusion.  So they're offering clarity here and on twitter and are only going to do minor errata.
#4 mellored Mar 11, 2015 9:13:26	Ehh...  ~98% of 4e was not errated. Probably 1/2 or the 4e errata was adding "once per turn" to powers.  Which could of been caught by playtesting. Another 1/4 was tweaking some number.  Which could of been caught by better editing.   Leaving only 1/4 that was proabably needed.   It just looked huge because they relased a a large amount of powers/feats/items/ect...
#5 AaronOfBarbaria Mar 11, 2015 9:39:03	There will be errata - the correction of errors in the writing - but there will not be things called errata which are actually updates and alterations to how the game rules are meant to work like there were in 4th edition. Such alterations will be offered, as mellored said, through additional content that doesn't alter or intentionally invalidate any existing option.

#8 Kalani Mar 11, 2015 11:28:26	Other than correcting typographical, grammatical, and spelling errors - the game doesn't require a lot of errata.   Some of the spells, features and rules elements could use a little clarification though and perhaps slight wording changes to remove confusion - either in a compiled FAQ or errata document.   The only rules element that requires an actual errata is the Grappler feat. The third bullet point refers to rules elements which do not exist (an artefact from a previous playtest). Removing or fixing that entry is required. If it is removed (and not replaced), the only real benefit from this feat is advantage on grapple checks as the pin (restrain) option is inferior to simply knocking the target prone while grappling. Personally, I would be happy removing the third bullet point and granting the character proficiency with Athletics, and/or +1 Strength transforming it into a half-feat.
#9 Tony_Vargas Mar 11, 2015 19:07:01	The 5e design paradigm assumes that the rules will be modified to suit by the DM.  Thus, the moment a rule is published, the designer's job is done.  Errata would be superfluous, as anyone who might have a problem would just correct it, themselves.       mellored wrote:
