Hi Wizard team,

First let me introduce, being a lifetime fan of magic the gathering i discovered Dungeon and Dragon with the 3rd edition.
It as been a while since i didn't play dungeon and dragon and i didn't heard about it since. But recently i had the desire to play with some friend to dungeon and dragon. I was interested with the 5th edition and was curious to know if you planned to do a French (and other languages) traduction of your Player, dungeon master and monster Manual.
Indeed if for some of us english is not a real issue, Dungeon and dragon is a Very hard game to master, and when i will try to convert mi friend to the game i don't want them to be scared of the huge book in english ^^ .

So im a little bit effraid considering  you never tranlasted the magic storyline book in other language, that you would do the same with dugeon and dragon.

I hope you could still understand mi point even with that terrible grammar of mine,

and hope you a pleasant day.

The third and fourth editions were translated by two different french editors specialized in games.

If a local editor is interested, there will be a translation. The problem is to know how many time it will take, as I suppose that it's more interesting to propose at least the PHB and the DMG from the start, and why not wait a little and see if some corrections are made in the original edition…

And you have to decide if it's not a better idea to have the original edition, as it's easier to lie to players who don't understand anything.

How can the group's wizard know that he can cast his teleport spell more than once a week if he can't read the rulebook ?

The best DMs are the best liars, so you shouldn't be the one to pay for the truth. Players like to be treated like children, they will love you like if you were their mother, and they will fight for your love and attention, particularly the self-appointed true roleplayers (the ultimate cheaters who are playing the DM).

I have read WotC will not allow translations to other languanges in the near future. For me it is a mistake because Pathfinder rpg will be translated. I don´t know the reason... maybe there are plans about a 5.5 Ed.
