| #1pukunuiNov 14, 2014 15:49:15 | The six PCs in my Legacy of the Crystal Shard campaign recently hit 4th level. I discovered at last night's session that fully half of them had chosen to take the Lucky feat. The fighter took the Heavy Armor Mastery feat, while the last two chose to bump two stats by +1.
Just thought it would be worth sharing since it's an example of actual choices rather than white-room theoretical optimization or whatever.
EDIT: To further break it down, the PCs who took Lucky are an aasimar open hand monk, a half-elf valor bard, and a lightfoot halfling wild mage. The player of the latter said he chose it because he thought it fit with his character concept well, while the other two took it because they are notorious for rolling low.
The fighter is a fire genasi battle master who wears chain mail. I think she just liked the idea of the feat.
The other two PCs are a half-elf fey pact warlock and a fire genasi moon druid. The warlock increased Dex and Cha, while the druid increased Con and Wis. Incidentally, the druid also took advantage of my house rule allowing a non-human to sacrifice their +2 racial stat bump for a feat - in this case, Observant.
No one in the party has a stat higher than 18. (Some rolled, some used point buy.) |

My group also has a problem with understanding probability |
