EDIT:  Part 2!!     Hello everyone!  Ever have a PC become a god?  Was it ever accidental?  Well, I have a story to share with you, part of one anywa.  Below is an excerpt for my latest blog post entitled The Sugar Coated Truth.  In it I begin the story of how one of my players accidently became a god and it was great.  As I say in the post, next time I'm hoping to finish the story and fit in a bit of a review of how this affected the game and what can be learned from the events.   The funny thing is, he didn't die.  Well, not until that's how it started being remembered.  The mis-remembering only served to fuel the retelling and laughter.  However, I decide to point out that very few people are left who know how to make frosting and more frivolous food-stuffs after the rift opened, and now (thanks head-cannon) that one is dead.  This resulted in the question, "What if he was the only one left?!"  To which I replied, "yes the last of his kind.  The last chef with the knowledge of pastries, harboring the divine spark of the long lost god of sweets and cake, dead by your hand!  Truly hasn't Bael-Ur lost enough?"   I hope you read the whole thing and enjoy.  And regardless of whether or not you do, please share your stories of PC godhood!!
#2 Ath-kethin Jun 18, 2015 17:16:28	The only PC who achieved godhood in one of my campaigns did so accidentally. He was a forest gnome bard/trickster, and ended up being killed by the party's paladin when he (the gnome) was identified by a summoned imp as a creature of Yog-Sothoth (though the character wasn't even aware of this fact). As compensation, I ruled that the death was fated, and the gnome became a demigod - who was worshipped by his player's next characters and eventually the entire party (except the paladin, who resigned).

Orcus was about to stab the Raven Queen with a Shard of Pure Evil, to get her powers.   Our Revenant Rogue, actually a servant of the Raven Queen, takes the Shard from the dead body of Orcus, and stabs the Raven Queen himself!   He aquires her portfolio of Death, but leaves her Winter, so he becomes the new God of Death, and she is the Lady of Winter... bent on revenge, of course.   http://www.worldoftyrrah.blogspot.be/2010/05/shadowthrone-aka-waylander-aka-dakeiras.html   PS: And in the same campaign, our Shifter Shaman became a "Tree of Life" in order to save a floating realm to fall from the sky. Somehow 4E kind of facilitated ending up is such epic ways...
#5 the_wandering_alchemist Jun 19, 2015 5:36:29	You're right, 4E really did facilitate grand epic endings.  It's too bad none of my 4E games made it that far.  I think the highest we got was level 14 in those.

#10 the_wandering_alchemist Jul 01, 2015 12:59:49	Part three is up everyone.  It's about as long as the previous ones, but feels short.  At the same time I don't think I could write much more without babbling or just going into full blown detail on a specific item.  Enjoy.
