Are these expected to take 5 months to finish? WotC has mentioned that they want to bring their player base back and avoid splitting that player base. It makes sence that they would want the consumer to purchase every one of their limited number of product releases. In order to make that a viable option it would seam that all adventure paths would be designed to start and finish within the 5 month storyline window. Does anyone know if this is the case? Do these adventure paths i.e. ToD, PotO etc last about 5 months from start to finish? |

Right now I'm a player in HotDQ in 2 different groups. ●Group #1: We started in Nov.'14. We play every other Sunday for 4 hours. Real life conspires so that we miss an average of 1 session/month. We've had a few extra bits added & RP diversions. We're just about done with the dragon egg hatchery..... it's going to be a long time before we finish this module, let alone RoT. ●Group #2: We started in Feb.'15. We play every week on Wed evening (having only had 2 cancelled session), for 2 hours. Feb was a short "intro" adventure to get everyone familiar with 5e & up to lv2 (DM thought Hoard too hard for 1st lv characters). We just finished looting the dragon egg hatchery. It's going to be a long time before we finish this module, let alone RoT....
Now if I were to play/run HotDQ with my other Sunday group that meets every other week for 5 hrs? (My Sunday gaming alternates. It goes 5e, PF, 5e, PF - with completely different people) We'd be done with Hoard & about 50% through Rise by now. With an average session seeing about 3.5 hours of actual play. |
