But it is the type of airship I am thinking of. A giant Zepplin with heavy cruiser type turrets on it.
I am thinking of going completly different from my typical quasi 17th century type D&D games and use some magi tech elements in it along with guns. Stuff from Eberron for example might be fine and one of the dungeons could be a crashed UFO or the super structure of a flying battleship or a copy of the Bismarck or something.
Back in the 90's I read some David Gemmel books and he had "guardians" in it which were on the wreck of the Titanic I think. The world was set after a nuclear war and the guardians had been giving the hellborn (devil worshippers) six shooters and the like. Repeating rifles, machine guns, grenades etc are all potentially fine. They will be treated like magic items form AD&D that anyone can use. You will not be able to buy ammo.
The PCs have encountered a Hobgoblin corpse with a boom tube on italong with a "guardian" who had an apparatus of kwalish type item with a cannon they used to blow their way into the Caves of Chaos that some Modrons had sealed up. I will admit Sundays session may have been a bit weird as I used Modrons m'kay. The Modrons had decided to fix the Caves of Chaos by selaing them up by sourcing building material from the PCs village.
For the most part I just wanted to use Modrons just because. For this game I am thinking of allowing Dragonborn, Drow and Warforged. My othjer co DM liked the Modron part and he had been wanting to use them as well and he had not figured out how to do it. His last plotline revolved around nuclear weapons and a Pit Fiend who wanted them.
Ottos Irrestible Dance kind of hoses Pit Fiends BTW. ANyway I would be interested in some ideas as I have not thought it out to much beyond lost technology of the ancients sort of thing.

Mmmmm, a dieselpunk or teslapunk setting is interesting, but it would be more "d20 Modern" than D&D. The key is the firearms and the balance of power guns vs armours and magic.

Threrion has been a round a while. I only found them 3-4 years ago. I think the latest album was covers of French pop songs.
