| #1ZardnaarNov 30, 2014 0:34:58 | So I went shopping online today and came away with the following.
X2 DMG MM RoT
In my currency the books cost $46.50 dmg $48.55 MM $31 RoT
That included postage and 10% off. 1 NZ dollar is roughly 0.75 USD AFAIK.
My MM for 2E cost $44.95 in 1995 the PHB was the same price. I know this becuase the price tag is still on the book and it got covered in plastic. And I had to pay postage on that as well which was $3.00 IIRC.
It might also give you an idea how much we pay retail in New Zealand on books in general. The price was roughly the same as the 1995 price buying online. Its also marginally cheaper than the over the counter price of the 4E books and 3.5 books from 10 years ago.
That was not Amazon (bookdepository.com) if I lived in the USA it would be even cheaper. I first used Amazon in 2004 to buy 5 3.5 books, UA, Draconomicon, Underdark, Book of Exalted Deeds, and Players Guide to Faerun. No FLGS then or now so I am not screwing over the local FLGS.
Earlier in the year I did use Amazon for some C&C/PF books and I got the PFRPG core rule book with free postage cheaper than I got the PHB in 1995 and thats a 2 in one book and not adjusting for inflation.
Betas me no wonder book stores here are stuggling. Amazon sells paper backs for $25-30% on the NZ cover price, postage is the problem. When Amazon does free shipping I buy 9-15 items.
So 3-4 weeks for my books. If I am lucky I may get them by christmas. I hate you all BTW if you get free shippiong from Amazon.
