As some of you may or may not be aware I can be a stickler for what I allow in my games. The RL issues that have kept D&D on the back burner for the last couple of months seem to be over and everyone can play again. I tend to run themed games on occasion (Drow, Evil PCs, early middle ages etc) and this time I want to run an anything goes naval type game.

Generally if this happen the PCs can ceither carry over their old PCs or "clone" them via levels. For example if the old game finished at level 9 the new one can start at level 9 PCs can have a different PC with maybe similar equipment. If they have Gauntlets of Ogre Power in the old game they can probably have it again but they might want to run a sword and board Paladin instead of a great weapon fighter or even be a warlock or whatever.

The next themed game I am thinking of is a naval/colonization/seven cites of gold type game and the theme is anyhting goes. Alll races and classes will be allowed. The fluff on the races might be changed however. Using the real world as an example the Amazon might have Eberron Drow and Yuant Ti in it, the Spanish might be Elves instead, The Dragonborn might be neo Rome in Texas or something and the Aztecs might be Hobgoblins. Halflings I am thinking of making similar to Eberrons Talenta ones or Darksuns cannibal ones Religions requiring human sacrifice would just be the usual D&D pantheon of demonlords or Vecna cultists.

If Drow live in the jungle like Eberron I do ot see them getting along with Yuan Ti very well. Another twist I am thinking of is the Colonial homeland may have gone dark so the human colonists might have a nation like the real world 13 colonies but all contact with the homeland has bbeen lost and they are surrounded by all these other races.

Themes for the big bads would be slavery, human/demihuman sacrifice, and the pretty races being food for the Drow/Yuan Ti/Halflings/Aboleth/Illithids/Beholders/Dragons. Also looking at optional rules from the DMG or tweaking them such as flanking going from advantage down to +2 to hit.

I'm also thinking of allowing evil PCs, still doesn't mean they are not a food source for something else.
