Yeah, the title says it.
There is a sub-forum for house rules, home brew settings, and such, but it's lower down on the main page, below 4e stuff.
No one uses it much.
Please, organize this forum better. It was stated y'all would. Yet, here we are, and well, nothing has been done.
I suggest this:
5e
- Rules Q/A
- Errata (because it will be needed, somewhat, and sometimes.).
- Homebrew stuff. (New classes/sub-classes, races/sub races, feats, backgrounds, spells, weapons, whatever, etc.)
- House rules. (What people are doing to make small, or large, changes to the RAW/RAI.)
- (EDIT) Actual play re-caps.
- General discussion (Anything else.)
4e/Essentials
- As above.
- Lots of Errata, lol.
3e/3.5e
- As above.
- See Pathfinder if this is really your thing, lol.
2e
- As above.
Etc.
You get the idea.
And past that, as their own sub-forums.
- Offical campaign Settings. (Yes, I know they are different across editions sometimes. Well, that's WotC's fault, not ours.) No rules stuff, just fluff.
- UNofficial campaign settings. (Let your homemade settings fly here, all about creativity, art, etc. The one place where as long as you preface with what ruleset, go ahead and show your edition-specific rules. But, this'd be really more about fluff too.)
- New Products/new product speculation. (covers 5e, as well as new minis, anything...but keep out of print editions out of here.)
- Board Games.
- Minis.
- Anything else. (A place to talk about whatever that isn't D&D directly product related. Like cool inspirations from movies, books, art, etc. Or personal issues/problems that you might want help with.)
An alternative would be to have a Official Setting sub-forum, and a Homebrewed Setting subforum for each edition...That'd work too, but might get too redundant, I dunno.
But, seriously. Consider this stuff; who ever is in charge of WotC forums. Don't make me curse or say something racist just to get you to read this :-)
PS: Add a *%^$#@!^%&*(% spell check while you're at it. Or at least enable browser spell checks. google chrome has one and I love it. It doesn't work here. But it works everywhere else I go on the internet.
Would the homebrew forum also include adventures people have made up themselves, like Iserith's Lizard King scenario?
I personally would also like to see a forum dedicated to "actual play" recaps and the like, so that they aren't all mixed into the general discussions about this and that.

I do think for 5e (not worried about older editions since they're not officially supported there's no reason to reorganize them now). we could use a few more forum sections.
Homebrew / House Rules (could see this as one subsection since the two are usually linked and in some minds one and the same with House Rules being included under Homebrew).
Campaign Settings/Adventure Paths (as they come out with them) So this section would have a sub-forum for Tyrranny of Dragons.
General Discussion (for things not tied to Products and maybe not even D&D related, but still of interest, an Off-Topic kind of board but not to the level of Astrid's Parlor where it's anything goes).
Also they don't need to add a spell-checker (though it would be nice) but they should see about better forum software that doesn't disable the built-in spellcheckers of various browsers (I use Chrome and on almost any webpage other than these forums I get a spellchecker automatically, but these forums somehow disable/ignore the extension so I feel like I'm in IE).

I agree that there should be a house rules forum for 5e. I think it's critical to the life of the system. The forum should not be hidden in a nested tree and rarely posted on. It should be visible and encouraged.
I don't see why we can't just talk about house-rules right along side the book-rules in the rules questions forum - especially since this edition has a mantra of "rulings, not rules".
Similarly, I don't see a need to segregate home-brew from other discussion.
If anything, pushing threads about these two topics off into their own corner is going to reduce visability of them.
