Will there be a character creator program like there was for 4th edition?

Yes, but not exactly like the 4e version.

Yes.

A better question is, "Will it be online only behind a subscription wall?"

Morningstar hasn't released that information yet. Many of us are eagerly awaiting the details. There was a report last month from one of the playtesters at Origins, and he sounded quite positive about it. I don't know where that report went with the reorganisation of the forums, though. DemoMonkey, do you know where (or how) to find that post?

I play tested Morningstar at Origins, and it si pretty slick. The character creation was very easy and intuitive--better than the 4E builder in my mind. I think it worked pretty well as a character sheet on an tablet, especially since you can customize the layout somewhat (I'd like to play around with that aspect a bit more). I can't speak to how it works for a DM since we didn't really get to play with that side of it, but what they showed us of the DM side was pretty exciting.

I think they will be doing more beta testing at Gen Con, so if you are going, I highly recommend checking it out if you have the time.
