This ability is really attacking my OCD. Not only does it not do a good job of explaining what that feature really does, but the name is 100% synonymous with the other option at that level, "Giant Killer", which actually is an apt description for that ability.

I don't get it - was this some kind of mistake where they had it listed as a possible alternative name for Giant Killer and then accidentally tied it to a different skill? I know it's just a name, but sheesh - how this made it to the final version is beyond me. Something like "Savage Hunter" or "Ruthless Predator" would have made waaaaaayyy more sense.

Sorry, my rant is over.

Name's a legacy from the playtest.

I prefer to think that "colossus" refers to any enormous creature (which is likely to have many hp and survive through many attacks or rounds) whereas "giant" is specifically referring to Giants, which have historically been treated as easy to dodge or outmaneuver by certain characters, such as Dwarves, Halflings, or Gnomes.

Like the OP, I don't see the distinction. They might as well have been combined into one feature.

Well, they perform different functions at the very least.  Divorced from the name, the mechanics of the two features are quite distinct.

should have been called "Prey on the weak" or "Natural Predator" or something
