#1 OrwellianHaggis Dec 17, 2014 5:47:29	If we assume that four characters of level 20 all have one magic weapon, how does that affect a fight against a pit fiend (CR20)? Or, to put it another way, how would removing its damage resistance to non-magical weapons affect its CR?
#2 AaronOfBarbaria Dec 17, 2014 7:58:48	My opinion: doesn't really change anything since a party without magic weapons could very well all have had silver weapons, or the spells to temporarily have magic weapons for those characters that would use them.   The DMG monster building section's opinion: the resistance is easily overcome (silver weapons are easily affordable), so it doesn't actually count for much.   It seems very unlikely to me that the developers would think that resistance alone is worth enough on its own to be the difference between CR 20 and CR 19.
