I thought I would share an NPC from my campaign. An army is marchig on the PCs hometown of threshold and they are heavily outnumbered. There are some NPCs nearby they can go and recruit to help them out. The army is lead by a Dragonlord of Tiamts faith and this is his game stats.

I kind of merged th Mage stats in the DM PDF with the Knight and tweaked the stas, added a race and plugged in priest spells instead of arcane spells. The last champion of Tiamats faith they encountered died fast however to a maximised call lightning spell and the Ranger finished him off on her initiative with two bow shots. Probably need a more powerful NPC and/or put a lot of effort into the encounter design in terms of support from other NPCs and terrain set up.

Spellcasting. The Crusader is a 9th-level spell caster. Its spell casting ability is wisdom (spell save DC 14, +6 to hit with spell attacks). The Crusader has the following wizard spells prepared:

Cantrips (at will): fire bolt, guidance, light, sacred flame,

Leadership (Recharges after a Short or Long Rest). For 1 minute, the knight can utter a special command or warning whenever a nonhostile creature that it can see within 30 feet of it makes an attack roll or a saving throw. The creature can add a d4 to its roll provided it can hear and understand the Crusader. A creature can benefit from only one Leadership die at a time. This effect ends if the Crusader  is incapacitated.

Reactions

Parry. The Crusader adds 2 to its AC against one melee attack that would hit it. To do so, the Crusader must see the attacker and be wielding a melee weapon.

Lord Hadrumat is represents a junior Dragonlord officer in Tiamats faith. Trained in blade and spell these members of Tiamats faith are mounted on true dragons as opposed to wyverns. Lord Hadrumet wheres a purple tabard with green trimmings over his armor.
