There is written nn spell create food and water:

You create 45 pounds of food and 30 gallons of water

on the ground or in containers within range, enough
to sustain up to fifteen humanoids or five steeds for
24 hours. The food is bland but nourishing, and spoils
if uneaten after 24 hours. The water is clean and
doesn't go bad

They write in Chapter 8:

Food

A character needs one pound of food per day and can
make food last longer by subsisting on half rations.

Water
A character needs one gallon of water per day, or two
gallons per day if the weather is hot.

So, the 45 ponds of food should be enough for 45 humanoids, shoudn't be? And the 30 gallons of water should be enough for 30 humanoids, shoudn't be? Are there typos?

The math looks a bit off there. But that's not as important as knowing the truth:

Conjured food is made of people!

I cast soylent green!

I want to make a cannibalistic PC who, every time he casts create food and water, a dead halfling or gnome* materializes on a platter.

(*45 pounds is just about perfect...)

So the british need more water per day than americans, since their gallons are bigger!

And what if the caster finds a scroll written in the metric system...

It could be that they just messed up with the math or it could be that they wanted the spell to have a bigger impact on your carrying capacity. Not sure. The rationale could be though that magically conjured food is less nourishing so you need to eat more of it.

I don't have my books with me, how much do rations weigh? Maybe it is a quality/quantity issue. Perhaps it's 15 humanoids and 5 steeds?

I personally don't get that bogged down over an issue like that when I GM, rule on it howerver.

There's no need for rules, just roleplay the steeds and the humanoid stomachs.

Roleplay solves everything.

Do like me, stop rolling dice, just roll roleplays.

The values given in Chapter 8 are for the minimum amount necessary to avoid detrimental effects; the spell creates an opulent amount?

It is magic. It works off a separate set of rules based on each spell.

Maybe the magical stuff is only 1/3 as nutritious as the real thing due to being conjured from the aether?

It says a pound of food feeds you for a day.

But you must ask; a pound of what?

Pound of peanuts would give you more than 2600 calories, and that would get you through the day with nett loss of fat or muscle tissue. But you could go on like this for several days. And not to mention that it not healthy to use only one type of food for any prolonged time.

and 20yo, with weight of 80kg and 180cm in height with extreme exercise level(thats what adventuring is) burns 3200 calories a day.

And if any food you carry or create with spells holds normal amount of water it will very fast push you over 5 pounds of food per day.

Trail rations are generaly dehidrated fruit, nuts, jerky and so on. as water is dead weight in calorie department. but what ever water you do not eat within your food you must carry it as water. But you can always rationalize that is easier to find clean water that food. Or maybe not.
