|
| #3melloredApr 09, 2015 12:15:38 | 5e up 5.75% pathfinder down 1.7% 4e down 1.5% 3.5 down 1.2%
Though it should be noted, that the total number of players/games for each edition has gone up. |

What? |

I'm kidding, I do like 5e. |
| #9Storyteller-ZeroApr 09, 2015 14:56:36 | 2 year mark is the real test of endurance imo.
I predict that there will be a new kid in town just like when Microsoft appeared in the console wars to become the third gorilla in the room beside Sony and Nintendo. This new kid will raise the stakes by having a really strong marketing campaign that brings tons of new players into the niche market.
Some people might say something like there's already plenty of gorillas but I'm just talking in terms of numbers brackets.
Between Pathfinder and DnD, a new power shall rise. And rise it shall.

| #12EthanSentalApr 09, 2015 17:28:29 | I guess the growth in number of games from Q4 to Q1 can also be attributed to weather impacts, playing over the internet compared to trying to drive in 3 ft of snow and ice in some parts of the north.
I'd be interested in knowing what countries the games are being hosted in just as a reference. North America 15%, Europe 12%, South America 10% sort of thing. |
| #13cassi_brazucaApr 09, 2015 17:44:03 | Good. I don’t like the game at all, but D&D will always be part of my experience, so I’ll always be happy for sales increases. I guess I’ll still be playing other games, though. |
| #14MechaPilotApr 09, 2015 17:47:20 | It's the new edition of D&D; I'd be surprised if it wasn't #1 on Roll20. |

Wait.... people are still playing Gamma World...???

| #20akaddkApr 09, 2015 18:49:12 | I wonder if Smiteworks could provide a similar example of games being played with their software. I'd be willing to bet that it's nowhere near as many as the total using Roll20. "Most popular" indeed. |
