I just received my spellbook cards for arcane, paladin and ranger. (posted pictures on my blogsite)
I have to say I like them, but some of the big spells were missing a lot of description.
I don't like the sharp corners, and wish they had been rounded like playing cards.
I diddn't know that they were even out yet!

I received mine today! I only ordered the Arcane set. Good sturdy cards and agree about the sharp edges. I like the cards very much!
I am ok with the cards giving page #s for the long spells, these cards are more for quick reference in my mind. I have the spells that I memorized in front of me, then when casted.. I just flip them over to the cool design. I like that I can use my Wet Erase pens on them, they wipe out just fine, the laminating saves me from having to put them in card sleeves.
I wasn't sure how the cards would turn out but I'm happy with them! I'll just wait for the Cleric set and I'm good to go.

I have got them too. I am happy they are finally out but I am really worried about the corners getting dog eared/ peeling so I really want to sleeve them to protect them, despite the lamination. But that is going to be a lot of money spent on sleeves..... Not to mention I want to stick them in folders too.....
I've read that there is an issue that some spells that are designated 'concentration' are not correctly tagged, can someone confirm this?
Well, so no one who has the cards has replied to my querry. Fortunately, its being discussed at EN world: seems that a big portion of spells are missing the concentration tag, a glaring omission. I will not buy these until these cards are fixed. Ive also contacted GF9 to ask what they plan to do to correct this.

Well GF9 admits they omitted the concentration tag. Hopefully the get reprinted and fixed.
Hey all, I'm the graphic designer at Battlefront (parent company of GF9) who did these cards.
It's great to hear that everyone is finding them useful. I just got a set of Bard, Druid and Cleric cards for my group too.
I know there are some issues with the 'concentration' tag missing. Honestly it was left out due to space restrictions and not wanting to cram tiny text sizes onto the cards.
Like Eberronknight mentioned they are intended to be reference cards, not to replace the need for the PHB.
That said, you'll notice that any spell that requires concentration has the words "Up to X" used for it's duration. As opposed to spells that simply last a long time which will simply say "10 minutes" or "8 hours."
I wasn't sure whether chiming in here would be a good idea but I'd honestly just like to see people putting these to good use. I hope you all find them helpful. 
Thanks for chimming in Varden. I appreciate that GF9 is noticing this issue. Can you answer a question that many of us have (and is being discussed at lenght at EN World)? When will I be able to pick these up at my FLGS (in California)?? It seems that folks who have pre-ordered these online still do not have them, while some folks do. When, if you may, can I expect to see these at stores???
It would be easiest to ask your store to get in contact with the customer support as I'm in the design studio.

But that being said I do know that there was a delay with the first shipment to the US, which was the Arcane, Paladin, and Ranger decks. The UK distributors bought the whole lot.
I think the second wave (Cleric Druid Bard) would've shipped out last week, since that's when I got my decks. The first three decks should also be heading to the US with those.
Anyway, take this with a grain of salt for now. I'll try and get some more information today.
Just a quick update on the availability of these:
The second print-run is finishing production now (first one sold out) and should be out in stores for December.
Sorry for the delay on the info, I've been at PAX Aus for the weekend. There was a huge tabletop area by the way.

A way I've 'unsharpened' corners on a deck is to rubberband (or quality painter's tape. That's even better.) them together in a block, and just hit each corner with an electric sander (fine grit, of course) for a second or two, or use one of those fine/super fine grit sanding sponges manually. It works best right out of the package, before any shuffling or looking at them. Oh, and let the sandpaper do the work, don't push hard, take your time.
I don't own these cards, but I have dealt with that problem before.
The concentration thing is a bummer...especially considering that concentration max time lengths vary greatly (ie: 'up to a minute' all the way to 'for 8 hours', or even perminent.) Even a post release of free little stickers can't quite fix that. But, oh well. The cards still sound nice for what they are, and they definitely look cool.

Yeah, I have the three card sets and the next three card sets are out from Gale Force Nine. I will probably get them because I like to collect things and hate having an incomplete collection.

Still no spellcards in Canada, even though people have been reviewing them for over a month now. I seriously doubt there will be any adjustments made to the card sets as they went to print a long time ago. I also have no idea if the lack of concentration tags was an oversight or intentional by design, but the creator insists that the "up to" duration is there to indicate this. Is this not the case? If so, what's the confusion?
Most customers seem happy overall with the cards so I think I'll try out an arcane deck for starters as I've never used this type of accessory before. When the licensing gets ironed out after Christmas, I'm sure there will be a lot of 3rd party companies with a competing product for those unhappy with the format.

The corners are straight-cut, not rounded like most playing cards. You shouldn't have to worry about cutting yourself or anything.
To my knowledge the second print-run has just finished. The first run sold out so fast that the reprint was ordered almost straight away.
I've made a number of fixes to the print files since then so future runs should have a "C" mark for concentration spells, and the two missing spells (pally's Destructive Wave/Smite, arcane's Mislead) will be put back in. Unfortunately the product that's already in circulation won't benefit from this so it's not much on a consolation to those who've already bought theirs.

The new versions of the cards should be making their way to stores now.
To answer some of your questions, These cards will have a large C (in a coloured diamond) in the duration field to denote spells that require concentration.
The easiest way to identify the new cards also relates to one of the issues people had, the sharp corners. The updated cards will have lovely rounded corners on them.
In regards to ritual tags, you'll find that ritual spells have always been labelled as such. On each card, directly underneath the spell's name, is a line that reads, "1st-level divination (ritual)" to use Detect Magic as an example.
Finally, the two spells that were missing (Destructive wave for Paladins, and Mislead for Arcane casters) have been put back in their rightful place.
And in some exciting news. We've heard the complaints from people who are disappointed that archetype cards are missing from the decks (Light Cleric's Fireball etc.) so we are currently looking at ways that we can produce small, add-on packs that will contain these cards.

I bought all of them recently, some from Paizo's store as well as Amazon. They were first style with the sharp edges. I ended up taking a fine tipped sharpie and put a red C and a blue R on them to identify the various spells that require concentration or can be cast as a ritual. Really nice cards and yes the corner points could be used at throwing stars

Any update on when I might expect to see the new print run of the spellbook cards (especially the Arcane ones)? Has anyone seen them in their local stores?
Games stores here (three) are sold out of them as soon as they appear, just like the DM screens. 
But I want them so badly!

I've been trying to get a set of these cards for a few months now. I can't get my hands on them. I wish they would post a date for the reprint to be released.
I've just checked on this and It looks like our American Office recieved two shipments of cards last Thursday.
So these should be making their way out to stores as we speak.
It would probably be wise to check with your local store to make sure they've ordered some, as these keep selling out.
This stock will be the updated reprints of the original 5 decks, plus the new Elemental Evil spell deck.

Just wanted to report, I stopped by my FLGS and I bought the new/corrected spell cards. I believe they are hitting stores at the moment. The new cards have rounded edges, include the 'concentration' tag, and some cards have been added that were not included before.
I'm a bit late to the party, but there are cards with spell names and descriptions on it? I had this idea a while back, it seems like somebody was already on top of it. Awesome!

They are very handy for spell casting classes. You can buy them at your FLGS, if not you can check online sellers like RPGshop and Coolstuffinc.com. The new corrected cards will have "Version 2" at the bottom flap between the GF9 serial number and the barcode.

My friendly, local game store told me these were the prices for their cards, is this a fair deal?
As you can see, the total for all decks is around $80, but they offer a 25% off coupon all the time, which brings the total to $60. Are those good prices or should I buy elsewhere?

Just bought the whole lot of Version 2 cards plus the Elemental Evil cards from The Compleat Strategist (huge FLGS and only FLBS in Manhattan). If anyone has access to Manhattan, they have a huge box of them.
Although i already had the original printing, I picked up the version 2 from my local gaming store when they were restocked a couple of weeks ago. Quality sets worth buying and the prices mentioned above are a great deal, do it!
