| #2Farmer42Mar 25, 2015 10:43:58 | Gotta love that jury duty... |
| #3ZardnaarMar 25, 2015 10:54:24 | CVould one not get out of jury duty or not get selected by saying stupid stuff like you will always vote someone guilty/innocent regardless of the evidence? |

It was a malpractice suit between an old lady and a doctor. I easily got out of it when the prosecuting lawyer said "Many people just don't like doctors. Who here is one of them?" I raised my hand, along with about 2 others, and we were told to go home. Of course, not all are that easy to get out of.
For it to last ANOTHER 4 months, it's gotta be something bad. So no conversion guides until about a year since 5th edition officially launched (July with the Starter set). |
| #12pukunuiMar 25, 2015 11:39:50 | Zardnaar: What if the WotC employee didn't want to get out of it? Why if he wanted to do his duty? |

Jury duty is a drag, no doubt. There must be some law indicating that all courtroom seats have to be designed to be as uncomfortable as possible. |

Some people... |
| #22ReiusMar 25, 2015 13:50:20 | "I'm prejudiced against all races, religions and ideologies." Works every time.
I hope that these conversion docs aren't a high priority for WotC, otherwise it would seem pretty short-sighted to just delay a project indefinitely instead of finding someone else to finish things up. They're gonna be free, so hopefully that's the reason. I'm sure they had some degree of advanced warning that this might happen. |

| #29NevvurMar 25, 2015 16:21:00 | I guess the question this brings to my mind is what's involved with "final approval?" If it's just signing off on a finished product, WotC can invest someone else with that authority. If it means some dude needs to apply conversion algorithms to a number of modules from various editions to ensure a consistent outcome, that job isn't so easy to hand off.
Or maybe it's just a cover up. I heard Hasbro is run by illithids.

Right.
Everyone (at least in the U.S.) knows how easy it is to get out of jury duty. You can:
Simple.
PS: It is a cover-up. Hasbro is run by Illithids. And the Illuminati. And the Reptile People. I think there's a few Aboleths and Beholders there too, down in the basement. |
| #32Farmer42Mar 25, 2015 18:22:46 | But not everyone wants to get out of jury duty, and you don't even know what the docket is until you've made it through selection. You have no idea if you're going to be sitting in on traffic cases for a week or two or spending the next six months hearing about how this guy funnelled millions of dollars out of investment funds. And that's if you're lucky. If you aren't lucky, you have to go through a **** or murder trial, which also lasts for months and instead of being hammered with numbers and math you get vivid descritions of the crime.
EDIT: Also, throwing out the summons ends up with a bench warrant in many cases and heafty fees for being in contempt of court. So the next time you get pulled over for having a tail light out you're instead getting escorted to the country jail. |
