One thing that I didn't quite understand was if there is an actual storyline. It seems that the adventures are released in a hap-hazard sort of way, without any conection or level link.
Am I missing something? Are these basically just stand alone, grab whatever I want based on the player level, style adventures? |

Beyond that, they're relatively stand-alone, but over time, the story of the shared home-base location builds and grows to a climatic point by the end of the season. Think loosely linked episodes in a series that has an overarching plot, but the episode of the week doesn't necessarily advance the overarching plot on any given week. |

Example from season 1:
Show
DDEX1-2: Secrets of Sokol Keep plants the seeds for several other adventures. You might hear a rumor about the 'ghost ship' in DDEX1-3 from Fat Mar, and you can meet some of plot antagonists in the same tavern, who appear in DDEX1-5 and 1-6.
These and other adventures demonstrate the Cult of the Dragon is up to something in the vicinity of Phlan. Whether or not the heroes spoil their plans, these events serve to foreshadow the arrival of Maimed Virulence in the first T2 adventure. |
