| #1solomaniDec 30, 2014 23:15:25 | Hi guys,
Hope this is the right place to ask though its a bit technical so not sure. The form fillable character sheets are great however whenever I try and save it filled in Acrobat 10 reader says "please sign off the form" which I do then I am forced to save a copy which is blank.
If I use my Acrobat v9 (not reader, full suite) it works fine. But under normal reader I cant save it. Though I can save it if I use Preview under OSX this breaks all the formating and makes it look ugly. Anyone else had this issue? Any ideas?
Seperate question, is it possible for me to change the skill names? I cant see a way to do it. For example I have a custom ranger archetype in my game and want to change "animal handling" to "engineering".
Thanks in advance.

As far as form fillable saving. I know older versions of Adobe reader did not allow you to save it. I thought I heard that the new reader will let you, but I am not sure.
Foxit PDF reader will let you save form fillable PDFs. It is free and you can open multiple PDFs in the same window and have tabs running across the top for easy selection. During installation you need to uncheck the addition of some third party software like the Java updates have, but it is easy to do. I use Foxit PhantomPDF Standard and like it quite a bit. It makes form fillable PDFs much easier than Adobe.
I totally hate the Adobe form creation. You can copy and paste without the controls being linked in Foxit PhantomPDF Standard. Adobe Acrobat, you have to unlink all the fields you copy and paste by changing the name so they don’t share the same value. In Foxit PhantomPDF you can do tab order by right clicking on the first field of the page and select tab order on the menu. You then just left click through in the order you want the tab order. I actually find I don’t need to set tab order as I copy and paste controls in the order I want the tab order so it is in the right order when I am done. If you copy and paste a bunch of controls at the same time, the tab order is preserved. |

Foxit is nice, unfortunetly there isnt an OSX version though I got it running it does the job.
Still cant see a way to replace, say, Acrobatics, with something else in Foxit. Its like its hard-coded.

With both Foxit PhantomPDF Standard and Adobe Acrobat you can place a form field over the existing text and set border and fill to white. This will cover up the old text. Then set the default value to the name you want and make it read only. |
