| #1Quenin1Jul 06, 2015 20:00:31 | Ever wanted to play in the Mass Effect universe in your D&D campaign? Well, a friend and I recently wanted to play Mass Effect with the 5th edition rules. We figured since 5th edition was designed with adaptability in mind, we were able to recreate all of the races and classes as faithful to the game as possible. If you find anything gamebreaking please let us know, in the mean time, enjoy!

If you have any questions about the rules, just ask away in this thread! |

I haven't gone through everything in detail, but these are my first thoughts. First, a bit too much race limitation. By these rules, no asari Adept in the galaxy can be intimidating. And you've made Flare asari-exclusive, when Shepard could use it, so apparently it's possible for other races to access, if rare. I would open up the skills, widen the height and weight ranges, and eliminate the class-specific racial features. I might tackle the Asari by instead giving them a free power or two, and giving them access to powers at lower levels than other races, for example. Otherwise it seems very limited, with a lot of extra stuff to track.
Quarian is probably the crappiest race. Smoothing out the extra features other races get might help this.
Why no humans?
The powers and equipment could also do with some simplification. You seem to have tried to reproduce the stuff from the games as close as possible, but it ends up coming off as overloaded. Like, it seems like you added the -2 and -4 range penalties for automatic fire, so you could justify a mod for automatic weapons that reduces that penalty. Doing half damage at long range seems unnecessary; this should only matter for shotguns, and it can be a special property of them. Full-auto fire needn't prevent you from moving. And so on. We could go on about this if you care to; in short the system tries a little too hard to get things right, at the cost of ease of use.
But it's looking great so far.
Also, PM me if you need another player/tester and game online m\/(^^ ) |

There are humans, I didn't include them because all of their stats are in the phb As for autofire, I get where you are coming from, but without some of the penalties it would be to overpowered when being used by a soldier. As for some of your other concerns I will bring them up to my friend to see what he thinks about changing them |
