d20 Tactical - A Complete 5th Edition Modern Supplement

Hello folks,

 

I am working on D&D 5th Edition Modern. So as to avoid confusion with any official 5e product line, the current working name for this project is d20 Tactical.

 

The goal is to create a massive content update to the system that allows for full 5e Modern Campaigns, similar to what d20 Modern was for D&D 3.5. The final project is expected to number roughly 200 pages, with a level of quality and refinement comparable to the core materials of 5th Edition.

 

 

Changes and additions will include:

 

-- Eight (or more) classes. Some of these classes are essentially remakes/adaptations of existing 5th Edition classes (such as the Fighter), while others are new.

-- Revamped equipment section, with detailed rules for armaments and modern armor

-- Updated skills and feats

-- Updated “spells”

-- A new bestiary with modern / sci-fi threats

-- Minor additions and updates to the core rulesystem, suggestions for campaign settings, and alternative house rule packages.

 

As a show that this is actually happening, I'll include a few samples in a second post. (Edit: To be clear, I'm not posting this content with the goal of getting comprehensive feedback on it just yet. They're just samples to show that this is actually being made. Your feedback is still welcome, but it would probably be difficult to evaluate some of it because it's missing the hundred-or-so pages of other material to go alongside it.)

 

So, why talk about this now? D&D 5th Edition was made possible in no small part by public playtesting and a tremendous amount of community feedback. I intend to incorporate some of the same. My goal is to start playtesting for d20 Tactical within the next 3-4 months. And, so that this whole project doesn’t seem to come out of nowhere by then, I want to bring attention to its development now and see who's interested in helping make this a real thing in the wide world of D&D resources.

 

TLDR; Would anyone be interested in running/playtesting a 5th Edition Modern rules supplement in the next few months?
