"If any rules are forthcoming, they will be through WotC's website. If you want more Modern D&D UA, buzz them! Thanks for reading!"
Therefore, if among you there are players/DMs who have an interest in being able to play Modern rules in his own campaign, it is important that you show your interest about this kind of rules to WotC designers, maybe writing on their Social Media accounts (Twitter, Facebook, Google+, etc) or answering in Surveys were your opinion is asked.
We must not believe that such rules can only be used to play Modern Campaigns. Changing their flavor you can use them to play Urban Fantasy, Science Fantasy, Steam Punk or Sci Fi campaigns.
By default D&D will always be Fantasy, but maybe some of its rules can be tied to other unusual Flavors.

A dinosaur can be a nightmare for PCs from a clockpunk d20 Past campaign, but only a walking target for space marine PCs from d20 Future. It needs a special game mechanic XP reward. If the PC is a Christmas tree of high-tech and extra-help (allies, vehicles..), the XPs rewards should be lower.
Is there another reason for a second edition of d20 Modern? The other Hasbro franchises, like Transformers, action amn and G.I.Joe. |

It shouldn't take more than a year or two to release everything that needs to be released to bring D&D fully up to date....
After that I want to see an Asian-inspired campaign setting free of the blech stereotypes of Kara-tur and one that mixes in pirates and pirate age technology into it.
And maybe a very child-friendly campaign setting for use by the pre-teen crowd before they grow into the full D&D.
And... how about a crazy fairy world campaign setting....
After those sorts of things, a D&D in the modern or future world could be a possibility. |
