A thread has been deleted, it seems, that raised an honest and candid point about an issue referring to some people involved with WOTC that have less than sparkling backgrounds. This thread involved discussion of GLBT people and their treatment.

 

I apologise if I'm wrong about this (that the thread hasn't been deleted, but I've missed it) but I feel such a thread with such an issue shouldn't be deleted out of hand with no explanation.

I disagree. This is the place for product discussion, and WOTC is directly responsible for associating with these people.

 

I said my piece in the original thread and was happy to leave it there, but I'm not happy that the thread has disappeared altogether with no explanation. It's dismissive of an important issue.

That's simply not the case. 

There was NOTHING in that thread that violated Terms of Service.  We deserve at least an official explanation.  I was in the midst of posting my piece when it was purged.  Not simply closed, purged from existence.  That is NOT how you deal with people.  It's frankly demeaning.

This isn't a discussion on 5e or it's products, however, and clutters up game discussion. This is a discussion on rights and follow up on something already removed.  It really should be pursued through correct channels because the only outcome I can see on a public forum is arguments and complaints while not actually accomplishing anything other than arguing and complaining. We argue all the time about this game and rules but debating rights and recognition regarding certain individuals isn't part of this game. This seems like the wrong venue for change if someone has a concern.

That which is asserted without evidence can be dismissed without evidence.

Accusing someone of harassment is a serious thing, and needs to be backed up. Otherwise it's just a witch hunt.
