| #1Kentor_Slowhand_02May 25, 2015 11:30:01 | Hey guys, I was wondering if there are going to be any plans in the future for any source material on the other Demi Human deities? |

| #4ArtifactMay 25, 2015 12:23:36 | I love the idea of Pelor as a distant deity, that his message gets mixed up, corrupted even. Nice to see that Burning Hate thread again.

| #6ZardnaarMay 25, 2015 12:32:43 | I still use the term demi humans as well. I also have the Demihuman Deities Book for FR which details the Elf, Dwarf, Gnome, Halfling and Drow Deities and most of them are also Greyhawk Deities. |
| #7MechaPilotMay 25, 2015 12:37:19 | I don't use Demi-human because it's inaccurate (at least for all races that aren't half-human). |
| #8ArtifactMay 25, 2015 12:40:41 | Demihuman prolly worked *better* before the appearance of dragonborn, tiefling, and all the other exotics. My 3.5 homebrew is human, dwarf, elf, half-orc, and mul, so it isn't too outta place. |

| #10HitdiceMay 25, 2015 12:55:29 | In my homebrew campaign milieu, "demihuman" is the classification that humans reserve for the more socially acceptable of the "humanoids," if you see what I mean. Look, I never meant to get political, it just happened gradually, starting with Moldvay Basic; it's not my fault! |
| #11Lord_VentnorMay 25, 2015 14:43:21 | "Demihuman" sounds like a racial slur used against half-elfs or half-orcs. |
| #12darkclutchesMay 25, 2015 20:10:48 | This thread has veered off course from the question of the OP, but since we're on the subject...
The term demihuman implies a humanocentric game setting, where other races are measured against the human metric. Unless the other races are descended from humans in the campaign setting you use, or the humans were the first race, I feel, and have always felt, this term is inaccurate. If the elves are, as is frequently the case, considered to be an older race, why aren't humans considered demi-elves?

| #16MechatarrasqueMay 26, 2015 8:12:29 | I always figured half orcs were like owlbears. I mean, it isn't like a wizard stuck a bear and an owl in a room, played some sweat Barry White music, and let nature take its course...... It was probably more like "I exacted the essense of the owl (orc) and infused it into the bear (human or elf or whatnot)." |
| #17ArtifactMay 26, 2015 8:36:13 | I like the idea that two half-orcs have half-orc babies. Or half-elves, whichever the case may be. That way, the gory details are farther in the backround. This way, not every single half-orc is a **** baby. Even for make-believe, that's harsh
So, I try n avoid such backround details, unless it's absolutely necessary. I've started using the term 'dual-heritage' to gloss over such unpleasantness, leave it up to the players if they wanna go into more detail. Picked it up from somewhere, not sure where. |

| #20Sword_of_SpiritMay 26, 2015 16:43:01 | I'm guessing the best source is still going to be the AD&D materials (or maybe 3e). |
