seems to me that the rangers main schtich chould be fighing (and creating) in difficult terrain. so i figured i'd attemp a version that does just that. work in progress / brainstorming. comments and ideas welcome.

1: you deal an extra 1d6 damage against targets on difficult terrain.

trailblazer: increase you and your parties overland speed by a number of miles per day equal to your Wis modifier. you are not slowed by non-magical difficult terrain.

2: Terrain's Favor: as a bonus action, you can create difficult terrain in a 10' radius within 60'. you can do this a number of times equal to your Wis modifier.

Fighting style.

3: Sub-class

beastmaster: tanky beast. moves on your turn and can act independantly. animal friendship at-will

hunter: hunter's mark at-will

4: abi/feat

5: multi-attack

6: Treat cover as 3/4 cover.  Treat 3/4 cover as full cover.  (does not stack).

7: Sub-class.

beastmaster: the area adjacent to your beast is difficult terrain

hunter: increase the size of Terrain's Favor to 15', at 120'.

8: abi/feat

9: You are not affected by natrual terrain in any way.  You have advantage against any natrual hazard.

10: You can a cast pass without a trace 1/day.

11: When you use terrains favor, you gain an additional effect based on the terrain.

Sand -> Lightly obscured for 1 minutes.

Rock -> 1d4 piercing damage.

Plants -> allies are not affected by the difficult terrain.

Ice -> treat it like the grease spell.

Water -> ???

12: abi/feat

...

16: you are under the effects of the freedom of movement spell at all times.

17:

...

19:

20: You can cast terrains favor a number of times equal to your Wis modifier per short rest.

I just want to say that that I found the thread title amusing yet descriptive. Thumbs up!

So, uh, yeah. Not a productive post on my part.

I like the idea.  However, the thread title makes me think of Super Sentai.

true....
what about a bonus depending on the type of difficult terrain you're on?
if your in the woods, difficult terrain gives you cover.
if your on ice, you can move without provoking.
if your on sand, you can use your reaction to blind an melee attacker (multi-attack defense)
stone gives you tremorsense
ect...
