DM screen?

Anyone hear anything about the official 5e DM screen, now that it's January?

More specifically, release date, and (hopefully) at least a bad jpeg of what it might/should look like.

(I don't care about the front art, I'm more concerned with what tables It'll have....)

A few people out there in the internet have made them, and posted them as PDFs. But, I only found one that took into account the DMG. It's pretty good. Found it here:

Seti, thanks.  This DM screen is nearly perfect for my needs, thanks for finding it.

Trevor Kidd just posted a picture of the shrinkwrapped screen on his desk.

You can also see two of the interior panels here.

I love that "Something Happens!" table. Can't wait to see what's on the other two panels.

I guess I need to see more of this.  Everyone has a different opinion and needs.  For me, my screen is there to prevent me from having to grab the books.  The less I have to do that, the better it is.

It's pretty, and readable, but there is a lot of wasted space and some of that stuff (to me) is useless, specifically that Something Happens table.  But, I can't see 2 of the 4 panels and maybe that space if just filler anyway. I'd prefer they nix the inside artwork, and use the space.

I modified the one from the link above that Seti found:  https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/33308208/Modified%205e%20DM%20Screen.pdf

I like the white space.  It makes it much easier to find things.  With 5e, I like the less is more direction.  I'm totally cool with limiting the amount of stuff on the DM screen (as long as what's on it has a lot of leverage).

I agree that some interior art is cool, to break up the tables. But, I also do think that terrasque illo seems a bit huge...I hope I can preview the whole 4 panels before I buy.

If not, I'll just default to the decent one someone else made and posted on Enworld. Or, if I really get into it, I'll make my own with 4 small whiteboards, magnetic scanned charts, etc.

I'd like to see something like that old 4e 'DM cheat sheet' from Sly Flourish in a screen. That was one 8.5x11 table with avg. HP, Defenses, to hit bonuses, High damage, Low Damage, XP value, etc. for each monster level/CR. That'd be useful as F***. It was free and blogger/player created. I find myself improvising combat encounters/traps more often than improvising RP, NPC interactions, and 'stuff that happens'. Although, that could be a cool table.

I'm thinking of using this screen rather than the one I've created for myself specifically because of the very low amount of rules info stuff on it - to remind me that I don't need all the other stuff that I have crammed into my screen.

It depends on the other two panels, but at this point I am leaning towards this screen - I think the "something happens!" table alone is worth showing my support to this product.

I want something like this but in A4, not US Letter.

Edit: Oh look, I found it. :-) Not quite A4 but close enough.

Love, love, love the artwork, captures a very classic D&D feel. And I really love that there is artwork on the DM side, why should I not be inspired? I'm picking mine up Friday at my FLGS. Im also super happy that its horizontal, lets me keep an eye out on things.

picked up the DM screen on my way home from work. First impression, the screen is horizontal, very thick card stock, glossy finish and the artwork, excellent and some is included inside the screen, thereby leaving some room for me to customize it with post-its if I want. The Name generator is probably my favorite feature. Solid effort, really nice work. The sleeve that the screen comes in has a poster inside that reminds me of those WWII posters of Uncle Sam pointing at you but instead its Ascerack "We want You" for the AL encounters program.

My wife is driving home past my FLGS tonight, so looks like I'll have it in a few hours. Unless they no longer have any in stock I'll be canceling my amazon preorder.

I am really happy with this screen. It's helping me feel like I want to, which is that I don't need to reference a ton of stuff to run the game well. The only modification I am making? A post it note with the mob attack chart from page 250 of the DMG because I love that rule and haven't quite memorized it yet.

Got mine yesterday at the FLGS near where I work.

I'm very happy with it overall, but would have liked to had a few more bits of info on the DM side. I'll just make my own small reference sheet to keep behind the screen for that info.

I agree that the name generator is really cool. I sat at my desk rolling a D20 over and over to generate names on the fly and they were all great.
