WotC has released another preview of the DMG, this time covering the multiverse: http://dnd.wizards.com/articles/features/excerpt-multiverse
Under "Known Worlds of the Material Plane", it lists the worlds of the Forgotten Realms, Greyhawk, Dark Sun, Eberron, Dragonlance, Birthright, and Mystara.
I notice how they describe the different worlds of D&D: the Realms are 'heroic', Greyhawk is 'sword-n-sorcery', Dragonlance is 'epic fantasy', Dark Sun, Eberron (sword-n-sorcery and heroic, respectively). I like these descriptions (which means somebody else prolly hates 'em 
)..
Oh, and Mystara (the 'Known World' of Basic D&D) and Birthright get a mention. Cool!
In a way, I kind of hope they don't touch Mystara. I don't want them to mess it up.

The Outlands are properly known as the Plane of Concordant Opposition. Think of it as the 'wheel' in the Great Wheel. An infinitely high Spire sits in the *midde* of the Outlands (the planes are actually infinite); this is Sigil. A great wheel with a hub and spokes.
*There's also the World Axis but that never went beyond 4th edition. I prefer it over the Great Wheel. So, I retro-fit it as the cosmology of my 3.5 homebrew setting.
Out of curiosity, am I the only one who prefers 4e's simplified multiverse? I was never that fond of the Great Wheel myself. That being said, I suppose 5e's cosmology is sort of a blend of the two.
