Does the Wizard's team even read their own twitter posts?

I just read a compiled list of twitter posts. As presented here: http://thesageadvice.wordpress.com

I could not believe how much they contradicted themselves. This was especially true about reactions. Not just mearls either but Jeremy as well. It was so bad I would recommend they just don't answer questions.

They mentioned an upcoming FAQ. Any idea when that will come out?

Will the FAQ be any better?  This is a true DIY-ADIB (and do it better) edition.

I think a lot of the time they answer questions as if they are making a ruling at their own table, which is what every DM is expected to do. This means there will be some variation on those rulings, DM to DM, table to table.

In a game that expects the DM to make more rulings, it's time for every DM to step up his or her game.

When they make ruling on twitter, they usually don't have their books in front of them. Thus, their answer is a "best guess" using the presented information. In a few of their posts, you will see that they even change their decision after reading the actual rules. As such, twitter rulings are probably the worst place to gater information about how the game actually works.

I read through quite a few of the tweets you posted, and I don't see the problem. Can you point out specifically what you are referring to, and why it is a problem?

I not only read quite a bit but I did a search specifically for "reaction" to see what you referring to there and not a single result came up.

Actually,

I owe people an apology. My statement took into account that the reaction attacks granted by Mag Slayer and Sentinal were Opportunity attacks. They are not. There are still issues I have with their posts, but it is not enough to continue with this thread.

This was not meant to be a hate thread. It was meant to bring awareness to the fact that people are looking for a hard rulling on some issues. Mainly because of organized play (which is big in the SF Bay Area). We need something more than "Its the DM's call".

The only source that can be trusted for official D&D rulings is WotC Customer Service.

Well run organized play is fantastic for the hobby - it gets butts in seats at local game shops which translates into purchases, and people having fun doing it bring in their friends and attracts other store customers to join in as simply as "What are those guys playing? It looks really fun."

...but organized play involving the wrong sort of people (whether DM, player, or even store owner/employee) is pretty much the worst possible thing for the hobby because it doesn't simply not create curiosity about the game, it scares away curious potential fans leaving them with a tale of an unfun experience to share with anyone that ever asks them about the game later on.

But why would concretizing rules that are free for interpretation as per the RAW make organized play better? Why not just play proper D&D, with the DM acting as an actual DM?

The only source you can trust is your DM.

Yeah in Australia the main option for D&D is virtual tabletop.
I haven't played a sit down game since the early 2000s.

I'm looking at all the tweets and I'm not seeing any issues with their rulings / clarifications.   What tweets are you at issue with?
