| #3MarandahirAug 15, 2014 8:49:22 | To be able to buy the PHB etc content permanently on it without a subscription, I'd HAPPILY pay twice (for a physical PHB and for the content in the app). It would be nice if there was a way to register your purchased books with DungeonScape, though. |

| #5spelleyAug 15, 2014 10:59:52 | I love all the info that's coming out, and am crossing my fingers that I won't have to double-pay on things like the Player's Handbook/DMG/MM. I actually think the note passing thing will be my favourite feature, though.
NOTE: This is obviously aimed at the Mad Adventurer's site, but good lord the background was distracting when trying to read :P |
| #6kalilAug 15, 2014 11:18:56 | If this thing pans out according to plan I wont buy a single physical book. |
| #7Plaguescarred1Aug 15, 2014 12:45:53 | Looks pretty good! |
| #8shivafangAug 15, 2014 12:59:41 | Looks pretty good. The personality traits selection puts me off though. I hope you can type your own or select ones that match your character from other backgrounds. I also hope you can customize your backgrounds per the PHB rules (pick different skills, or a different background feature etc.) |

| #11silentdanteAug 15, 2014 14:26:14 | like i said in the other thread, i am happy with everything they are going to provide, but since i play online and offline, roll20 doesn't really get replaced since all this is capable and roll20 (or other virtual tabletops) and i was hoping to replace roll20. with everything they mention it would just be a hassle(though honestly not much) to have both open when roll20 will do the same things, just cosmetically worse and maybe needing a little bit more math.
i suppose if you play strictly theatre of the mind online with people you dont need the extra feature of things like roll20 have for grids and maps. you will still need a way to talk but most people use google hangouts anyway.
i do hope the third teir they mention called forge finally allows the pc app at least to run grids and maps replacing roll20 in the end. who knows. |
| #12quindiaAug 15, 2014 14:35:08 | Forge tier is the bit where you can add your homebrew races, classes, monsters, magic items, etc...
last paragraph...
Finally, we’ll get the Forge. While they had nothing of the Forge to show just yet, they did tell us that it’s a data creation tool for DMs. That’s where DMs will create their own monsters, traps, and other custom bits and pieces. Because, as Chris explained when I asked how much DMs would be able to customize, it’s all just data. Once you get it in the same format, it doesn’t matter whether it was Wizards of the Coast who created the data or some DM sitting at his laptop. It’s all the same to DungeonScape.
If this part works the way it's billed, I will happily pay for every book or subscription or whatever. Being able to incorporate my own campaign into the digital tools will be fantastic. |

| #14ElfcrusherAug 15, 2014 19:36:29 | Sweet! Yet another opportunity to air my favorite feature request: scalable monsters.
I've always hated the fact that monsters only (typically) have one level. You know, orcs are level 2 and vampires are level 8 (or 10, or 13, or whatever, depending on edition).
i understand the page limit problem, but digital tools don't have page limits.
So picture this: you click on "Orc". Then you drag the level slider to...oh...7. Boom: level 7 Orc, with all stats adjusted, random treasure generated, and maybe extra abilities that don't appear at level 2.
But what's this? You also see checkboxes for "Shaman" or "Witcdoctor" or "Berserker". Check one of those and see stats readjust and different abilities appear.
Imagine this for lycanthropes: pick your flavor AND your level, all in one entry.
Or, for the aforementioned vampire, maybe you have a list of special abilities, and vulnerabilities, so you can customize your bad guys (and keep jaded players guessing) but still get the challenge level you're looking for.
Now THAT would be a monster manual. |
| #15JohnLynchAug 15, 2014 20:44:28 | If a DM can create content and make it available to their players than I could actually see myself using this and encouraging my players to. |
| #16Azzy1974Aug 15, 2014 22:48:47 | Very encouraging. I'm really looking forward to this. |
