I've heard that the companion book isn't going ahead. Is there any confirmation of yay or nay?
Was really looking forward to an Elementalist wizard sub-class. |
| #2melloredMar 14, 2015 8:42:45 | there's a compaionion pdf for now. |
| #3Mephi1234Mar 14, 2015 8:59:56 | There's some information on a few books that were "leaked" and got cancelled in house - word was never supposed to get out on them, never officially announced.
As far as I know, though, there's still going to be the full Temple of Elemental Evil set of releases, and we already have a free pdf download of some of the stuff from there. |

@mikemearls Any chance of getting an Elemental Sorcerer subclass with Elemental Evil?

| #12lawrencehoyMar 15, 2015 7:37:42 | I'm glad they're taking their time as well. I wonder if they will just update the Elemental Evil Players Companion, when they have finished these elements (elemental sorcerer, cleric, & monk). I'd rather see that than additional PDFs, when it is just material that would have gone into the EEPC, had it been ready for publication. |
| #13AaronOfBarbariaMar 15, 2015 12:38:00 | It would be nice if any future elemental-themed content was added to this product rather than placed in some other product, but I think whether or not that will happen greatly depends on whether it still seems like a viable plan to give such content away for free. |

| #15Enevhar_AldarionMar 16, 2015 0:28:19 | Wow, Sasquatch is still alive and in business! This is the first news about PotA to show on their website and if WotC had not specifically named them as the creators, I would have thought they were out of business. Their website, Facebook page and Twitter account have been dormant for months now. I want to know why we have not gotten simple things like a page count or an image of the back cover, both standard things to get long before the release date. |
| #16NozareemMar 16, 2015 5:10:50 | My big question is why did they screw over Genasi in Elemental Evil with how they look and made their primary modifier Con instead of like Int?! And for some reason all the storm souls vanished and their were some in Richard Lee Byers FR series, so they were in cannon? |

| #18Mephi1234Mar 16, 2015 7:46:34 | Storm soul genasi no longer make sense, as we've gone back to the four-way division of the Elemental Planes. While technically the Elemental Chaos remains, I don't expect to see much support for it down the line. Even if we do? Temple of Elemental Evil focuses on the main four, so its not the place to have a non-traditional genasi.
As for the wizard thing? Fire genasi are clearly designed to be wizards, likely eldrtich knights as well. The others? Earth barbarians, water clerics, and wind monks seem to be the intent, if we go by pictures.
I think its possible we'll see a storm soul if they ever make a Storm Origin for Sorcerer, though, so keep hope up. |
| #19ZHDarkstarMar 16, 2015 8:23:10 | I wish that the Genasi would have racials of +2 Con/+1 Choice regardless of subrace. That would better represent each subrace as a separate civilization, as opposed to the current taxonomical approach to the D&D subraces. Applying biological classification to the PC races would put most of them within the Hominidae family, but varying wildly by genus and species. Here are a few examples of what the scientific names of some subraces could be.
Human: homo sapien Half-elf: homo elvyn Half-orc: homo orcus Aasimar: homo divinus Tiefling: homo corruptus High Elf: elvyn sapien Wood Elf: elvyn naturae Drow: elvyn corruptus Eladrin: elvyn arcanus Mountain Dwarf: dwarvus montanus Hill Dwarf: dwarvus hillockae Forest Gnome: gnomis forestae Rock Gnome: gnomis terranis X Dragonborn: homidraco (Latin of X) (too lazy to translate every color/metal) :P |

| #24NozareemMar 16, 2015 14:55:37 | Really... No class has Con as a primary stat so it's only a secondary stat or other that's why it screws over Genasi there given a stat that no class uses as a primary... They should've had Int or cha to go along their tipical elemental magic theme! So making them have Con as their base stat was dumb! And since storm soul had been in some of the published books like Richard Lee Byers they are in can and should not have just vanished. Plus they should have left how they looked in 4th edition now Genasi look old school Star Trek people. |
