The spirit companion appears as a medium-size beast of your choosing. It is not a real creature, however, and it does not have hit points or ability scores. • It can be attacked, and its AC is equal to 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Wisdom modifier. If a melee or ranged attack deals damage equal to 5 times your character level, you take half that damage and your Spirit Companion is dismissed. • Your Spirit Companion can move up to 30 feet on your turn, but if it is ever more than 100 feet from you, it is immediately dismissed. If you make an attack or cast a spell, you can do so from the Spirit Companion's position. Attacks made through the Spirit Companion use your Wisdom Modifier in place of the normal ability modifier for the attack roll and damage roll. • If you fall unconscious, your Spirit Companion is immediately dismissed. |

But, like I said, a Druid Circle that is inspired by the 4e Shaman Class (Circle of the Spirits, perhaps) would be pretty neat. |
