In addition to Black History Month, Heart Health Awareness Month and other events piled into the shortest month of the year, Wizards has officially declared February as Dungeon Master Appreciation Month. So be sure to thank your DM at your next session. http://dnd.wizards.com/articles/features/appreciate-your-dungeon-master

While I've been DMing since OD&D (exclusively for about a decade now); some of my most memorable games have been as a player ,under a good friend. Our DM styles are very similar and, indeed, he has taught me much over the years.

So, here's to you, Steve Taylor; for being one of the best DMs ever!

Well, if that's the case, I'll send out a message to the DMs who have run games for me.   Keep on doing what you do so well!

To my first DM, Brian, you started it all over 30 years ago.  To Max, you were the best improvisational DM, and the DM who most inspired me to DM.  To my buddy, Lance, you GMd some awesome Star Wars d6.  To ShadeRaven, all our games are interesting and your descriptions keep me seeing the world around me unfold.  To Sleypy, you really grabbed my pc's attention and fooled him royally with the old momma who turned out to be a disguised hag.  To Plaguescarred, I enjoyed every playtest session you ran, and I'm glad I joined your group and continue to run with you when possible.

Three cheers to all the DMs out there!  You all make D&D the special game it really is.

My first DM was a friend of mine named Sean who introduced me to the basic set in the early 80's. I have no idea if he even plays any more, but he was the first person who had a set that I could actually play a game with rather than just hearing about it, and it hooked me from the start. I'm thankful for that, and for the renewed interest that Next/5E gave me for the first time since 2E.
