~~Finally, this part concludes with epic boons. You'll recall the mention of epic rules in part 1; 20th level characters are awarded for every 30,000 XP the character earns above 355,000. Epic characters don't advance, they essentially gain superpowers: hitting when they miss, gaining proficiency in all skills, immunity to fire damage...it's a one-page list of cool stuff that's not game breaking but awfully powerful.

EPIC RULES!

Exciting. I'm running out on Friday to pick one up at my FLGS.  Can't wait.

Cool beans! Can't wait for my DMG.

As an aside, I am personally acquainted with the Rev Scott Frazier mentioned in the article.

Very groovy, I was hoping for not "but this goes to 11" epic style play (d20 + 97...).

I like that the flying wizard vs Tarrasque art made it into the DMG. See forum readers, we can change things :-)

Sweet! I just saw this morning that speed factor ans casting time  are included in the DMG. Good reviews. Looking forward to geting my hands on the DMG this week.

I believe that is very likely true. Or at the very least -initiative numbers adjusted by casting time and speed from round to round. Hi, Brock btw. Would you like me to find and link that for you?

Mandatory complaint: Lack of full terrain-based encounter tables. There are only like 8 terrain categories in 5e, that you can see in the druid and ranger class features. From the review I read we got 3. Why not make an encounter table for each? I mean, with the huge number of tables apparently in the DMG, I'm not sure why those were considered unimportant.

It is a major hassle to make satisfying baseline default terrain-based encounter tables myself. I've done it before, and I hope they put it in an online article, because I have no desire to do it again.

I love, love, love what I'm seeing. The early leaked DMG review from Italy that was on enworld had me deeply concerned about lack of content. But it's obvious now that DMG is going to have a ton of great advice and options, but presented in the "rules lite" fashion that is the hallmark of 5E. Cannot wait!

Major props to Delazar78 and Brightmantle for posting some awesome preview content. I emailed my FLGS last night and pre-ordered my copy. I should have it in about 2 weeks. That's 2 weeks too long for me, but I know it'll be worth the wait. VERY EXCITED!

There's so much on enworld now.   I love that there is a master chart of monster features so that it becomes easier to mix and match or add features to modifiy monsters or create new ones.   Very exciting.

Thanks Brightmantle.
