Generating Monster Lairs

I've been playing since the old Red boxed set ('81) and have always enjoyed generating random monster lairs. i.e., roll for the number of goblins, and wolves, and leaders and then randomly generate the treasure. I've found as a DM this allows me both more control and adds the ability for the enemy leader to react and prepare if the party decides to go back to base to rest and re-equip themselves. As such, I've never used the encounter builder to create encounters, but merely to determine experience from the encounters that I've built.

Using 3.0/3.5, while more challenging than in 2, the Monster Manual had good information for generating the creatures in a monster lair (and I used a formula to calculate the treasure based on the encounter rules).

Will the new 5e Monster Manual contain similar information? i.e,. travel in groups of 4-9, one sergeant per 20, 20-200 adult males in a lair led by a captain and 1-2 lieutanents, etc.

I hope so. Randomly generated anything fell out of disfavor for a while, I'm hoping it makes a comeback.
