Beastmaster Ranger

Nature Domain Cleric

Land Druid

Monk (anything)

Sorcerer (wild mage)

Valorious Bard

And how did they play out at lower levels?

Beastmasters do very well.  It's how best scale that's an issue.

I valrous bards do great. Run upto someone, cast disonant whispers, and get a free OA.  Which is plently of damage at low levels.

Monks are kinda weak early on untill they get a few dex bumps and more ki.  They do good later though.

One of my players likes his monk.   He's 3rd level now elemental path with that burning hands attack for 2 ki.

He loves that he can use ki to disengage or dodge after he's attacked.   Both of those have been great life savers for him at 1st and 2nd level.

One of the guys in my group is playing a shadow monk. We've just reached 10th level, and he seems to be enjoying it quite a bit.

I gave my last PC a few levels of wild mage. I really liked it. The wild magic table is hella fun to roll on. I don't think I got past 3rd level in sorcerer, though, as my PC also had levels in rogue and bard.

I also have a valor bard in my Crystal Shard campaign, but I haven't seen him in action that much. He was having a lot of fun with the friends cantrip during our first session, though. The PC is only 3rd level at the moment. Should get to 5th level by the end of the campaign.

There's a land druid in my 5E group.  She's extremely effective, and we're currently 3rd level (having started at 1st).

We don't have a pure wizard in the group (I'm the arcane spellcaster as an eldritch knight), so she covers our AoE needs while also providing support and occasional healing.  (We also have a College of Lore bard who is our primary healer; I imagine if the druid needed to be a primary healer, she would not also be able to provide AoE damage and support spells, due to spell slot limitations.)

I have a Land Druid and a Rogue/Shapeshifter Druid in my London game, and the shapeshifter seems a little OP at 3rd level.

Of course breakpoints on shapeshifting are going to make effectiveness of that character spikey - but the whole 'bucket of free HP' approach to shapeshifting is something I am going to keep a close eye on.

Having said that - Flameblade is a nasty spell, and the Land Druid dishes the pain to a hefty degree with it. At other times his Shillelagh isn't bad either.

I have been playing a Halfling Monk (Shadow) with the Noble background.  I play him with the personality of a Samurai that is secretly a Ninja.  Although we don't do Samurai and Ninja's, he's a Noble knight that is secretly an assassin like protector of his people.  But the personality is more samurai/ninja.

I've got a valor bard in the party. He can mix it up in melee pretty easily with his 18AC (14 from armor, 2 from dex, 2 from shield).

Going to temporarily have a monk for story reasons next session, Way of Shadow. On paper, it looks very cool, but we'll see how it plays out.

I'm DMing Lost Mine of Phandelver and we have an Monk (elf) and a nature cleric (dwarf). The group is lvl 3 and also has a forest gnome druid and a human wizard.

The monk has been filling the frontline warrior role and doing pretty decently at it. His AC and/or HP could stand to be higher for that position in combat, but his damage output has been as good as the wizard. His bonus action of unarmed strike has proven quite useful, and I can only assume he will be more powerful in a couple of levels as he gains chi abilities. The cleric's healing spells have helped the group significantly, but she hasn't attempted to use the more "nature domain" stuff much; as a dwarf she typically tries to bash things in the head instead of using her attack spells. At lvl 3 she doesn't have access to many spells yet anyway.

Nature Domain Cleric is the most single-attribute dependent Cleric in the game. WIS takes care of your spells AND your attack rolls thanks to poaching Shillelagh with your Domain benefit. From there, just have either a STR 15 (full speed in place) or DEX 14 (max AC in medium armor), a CON 16 at least, and you're all set.

It also has arguably the best Divine Strike out of all the Clerics, being able to change your damage type freely depending on vulnerability/resistance.
