Help me source this dragon?

Long, long ago, I ran across this toy in the aisles of WalMart.  The dragon struck me as incredibly familiar, so I spent the better part of evening tracking it down.  I found many, many copies of this image all over the Internet, but with basically no attribution or source to speak of.  It appeared to be simply the Internet's go-to "red dragon" picture, so I basically gave up.

Then, just yesterday, this article (no real need to click this one) drops about the D&D movie and look who's up top (spoiler alert: it's the dragon).  The article even has a source for it's photo, but it's only the domain, so some Google-fu uncovers this page featuring this image: the cold case is hot again!

Despite the idea that this version appears to from DDI (which would explain why I recognized it), I can't find any version of the image not associated with the page I had just tracked it to.  That same Google-fu fails to turn up any alternative source -- indeed no version with the D&D logo on it at all.

So I turn to you, dear community: can you help me find the source of this dragon?  My curiousity has been piqued and I haven't learned yet how to unpique it.

Larry Elmore has done many, many red dragons, but I am not sure if this is one of his or not.

Red dragon from the 4e MM1, I think.

That toy looks a lot like a bronze dragon.

If the red dragon on the packaging is a WotC image, I have a feeling the toy maker used it without permission.

It would be nice to see the rest of the packaging; there is no branding on the portion you've shown.

Well the first hit for them on google is Walmart, and then Amazon and some other stores. Can't find an actual company website (and the linkedin company is an ATV offroad company not the toy one).

They do sell a yellow and a red version. The only toys they have with any sort of "branding" on them is Duck Dynasty toys.

I also suspect they lifted the image from the internet with no concern for US copyright law.

The picture is from the 4e monster manual 1.
