| #1DracuwulfJul 04, 2014 16:47:05 | How can you heal if your party doesn't have a cleric? |
| #2souldoubtJul 04, 2014 16:51:28 | Hit dice, healing potions, or wait until the PHB comes out and recruit a Bard or Druid. |
| #3PromJul 04, 2014 16:58:34 | The PHB will also have a Paladin, they can also keep a few PC's on their feet during combat. |
| #4THEMNGMNTJul 04, 2014 17:13:42 | Or your DM can use a different healing module which presumably will be available in the DMG. |
| #5kev777Jul 04, 2014 18:10:47 | Take a long rest, there is no need for magical healing in 5e. |
| #6PolarisJul 04, 2014 18:43:30 | Healing potions are the new "wands of CLW" of 5e.....

| #7KalafaxJul 04, 2014 19:28:10 | Allows players to regain hit points by eating food, something I've always liked to do, works especially well when you get players into working on a cooking skill and then they can make food even more restorative. |

| #10GnarlJul 05, 2014 7:57:45 | What we used to do back in 2e is have a cowardly NPC cleric follow the party around...
But hit dice should do the trick and if you feel like it's not enough, increase the amount of HDs! |

| #15DraconesJul 05, 2014 6:19:46 | On a more serious note, I'm not sure clerics are really going to be most effective as party healbots to begin with. The number of spell slots they get are pretty limited(max out at around 3 per level usually) and you have to figure if it's going to be better to heal someone for 8-10 points of damage per spell level or bless the entire group for +2.5 to hit and saves for the entire combat. Or toss a hold person and take an ogre out of the fight for several rounds.

| #19GuntharJul 05, 2014 6:50:07 | There's countelss ways to deal with it pre-PHB, just not in the rules. A short rest, food, meditation, herbal enema, whatever. I personally dislike having the cowardly healbot follow the party as that's far more immersion breaking than things the party can do. |
| #20LokironJul 05, 2014 6:53:21 | On are more relevant note, how much healing is available to the party (at different levels) and how large a portion of that comes from the Cleric? |
| #21abanathieJul 05, 2014 8:59:43 | You could stop hitting the players... If they don't lose hit points; they don't need healing...
Another option is to just kill them out right... If all the players are dead; they don't need healing... |

| #30DreamstryderJul 05, 2014 9:55:58 | I think we're reaching the less immediate options now, Wyckedemus.
Restorative food has a long tradition in video games; one could consider an item cheaper than a potion that allows you to spend HD outside a rest, or bestow different flavor benefits after taking a short rest. Maybe the effects of a short rest change a bit depending on a PCs' cooking efforts or an impromptu performance.

| #31TheNovaLordJul 05, 2014 9:53:53 | Loads games use the sit down and catch your breath, swig some hot tea, eat a banana, etc to get health back I do hope lifestyle and lodging gives an option to recover quicker
Keep money under control and it will be a good resource
