I'm curious what the expected wealth by level is for 5e. I know they haven't included that information directly yet, but by examining the starter set, we can get a rough idea of how they intend wealth to be balanced. So for anyone with the starter set already, what is the maximum gold a PC can end up with by the end of the adventure?

So very rougly wealth by level expectations seem to be current level x 100 gold.

1st -2nd = 100 g.p

2nd - 3rd = 200 g.p

3rd - 4th = 300 g.p

4th -5th = 400 g.p

Total = 1,000 g.p per adventurer

But I doubt they put that much thought into it.

Hmm, so based on that, in the first 5 levels at least, only heavy armor wearers will be able to get an actual AC upgrade (chain->splint). Medium wearers may be able to afford Half Plate by 5th level depending on other expenses, and light armor wearers will already have their best armor from the start and just have to bump stats. Full plate probably won't be affordable until 6th level at the earliest it seems.
